| The catalog search has a list of keywords which are excluded from searching.
Yet some of those keywords are being used in catalog titles, and are essential
when trying to locate a catalog entry.
As an example
‘Up’ is used in the title, but that same keyword is being excluded from searches.
The suggestion is to synchronize the exclusion with the inclusion of certain
words.
Thank you

Titles are there for more than just searching. Plus you can search for "arm up"
so removing up from the title would break that.

I think they are saying to remove some words from the keyword exclusion list.
And of course keep them in titles.
If you use the advanced search page, “up” from “arm up”, would be excluded. It
is not excluded from the standard search page/box at the top of every page.

Yorbrick’s saying that you can use quotes: ‘"arm up"’ not ‘arm up’, and it’ll
work.

Yes. Oops, I missed the quotes in his response.
My example was based on not using quotes in the search field.

The keyword exclusion list seems something 'they' can't change as
this has been brought up and ignored many times before. But it is the wrong list
for the purpose of this database. The exclusion list is compiled for the most
frequent used words in English full texts. But we are not using full texts in
Bricklink titles. Thus, the list defeats the entire purpose.
It is likely very easy to fix: tell the database engine not to use the exclusion
list, or if that is not an option, tell the database engine that this database
is another language, like EN-BL (English for Bricklink catalog) and not EN-US.
