| Just got a package I ordered in January 2021. 400km delivery took over a year
and a half hahaha
I’ve long since re-ordered and received everything, so duplicates I guess?

| I'm with you, In my experience over the years USPS has been great (granted,
I'm not shipping or receiving at even close to the volume some Bricklink
members are). Occasionally an order may take an extra day to arrive but I've
always been made aware. I even received an order from Montreal Canada yesterday
that only took 7 days to get to me in Idaho (shout out to both Canada Post and
USPS on that one). With the volume the USPS deals with on a daily basis I have
to tip my hat to them...

AMEN!
Maybe not so much on the pricing (I remember the sub $2 shipping across the country
times).
In my case, I have shipped thousands of packages with less than 10 missing. Other
than during the worst of the pandemic (or shipping through Chicago) my packages
arrive quickly with no damage.
Can't really complain, especially when you look at the total volume they
move on a daily basis.

I was a bigger defender of USPS before having 6 packages go missing in the last
month. That's more than I've had in my entire life combined.

| Given the choice I would pick Australia Post over most of the courier companies
here in Australia.

| We had this happen with UPS. Got a package about two months ago, that was supposed
to be here in 2019. Fun times when you see stuff you ordered back then finally
arrive.

What would happen if there would be food in the parcel or any other time-sensitive
items?

Nothing would happen because you don’t send ‘time-sensitive’ items through the
common postal service: it’s either forbidden (live animals…) or you should use
an appropriate service to ensure a timely delivery
But I’m sure postmen have lots of funny stories
