I have opened a brand new sealed set of 8764 to specifically verify whether the parts were pearl or flat silver. All pieces in question were pearl, with the exception of the Inika shoulder armor being pearl very light gray - which matches what I have seen in other used copies of this set.

This set includes both of them? Interesting.
Both of what? I am not certain what you are referring to. I have seen in the
set history that flat silver has slowly been changed over to an alternate color.
Whether or not there are sets that have flat silver in them, I do not know. However,
there do seem to be flat silver copies of the Vezon mask for sale (if people
know their colors correctly). So I thought I would follow the trend and try to
change flat silver to the alternate color instead of requesting its removal altogether.

Bricklink has a problem with inventories and Flat Silver vs. Pearl Light Gray.
The Pearl Light Gray parts you're seeing are actual Pearl Light Gray. The
Pearl Very Light Gray parts you're getting are an unrecognized color separate
from both Pearl Light Gray and Pearl Very Light Gray. You will notice that sets
from 2005 and 2006 will either come with both, one, or the other.

Yes, I have noticed that both this set, as well as Thok, commonly have the "Pearl
Very Light Grey" color. Out of curiosity, can you show me what an actual pearl
very light brick would look like? I'm not sure I've seen any others that
would fit that description.

Until BrickLink stops listing polypropylene Pearl Light Gray parts as Flat Silver
just because that plastic doesn't show the swirlies as well as ABS, this
graphic remains evergreen
True "Flat Silver", what Lego calls "315 Silver Metallic", wasn't introduced
until 2010 at the earliest.

(I do need to update this graphic with 296 Cool Silver, which is lumped into
Pearl Light Gray here on BrickLink, and is the lighter color seen on Thok.)

What Bricklink calls Pearl Very Light Gray is an entirely different color that
was no longer in use by the time the unrecognized one was in sets. I've noticed
that some photos of the unrecognized color are under Pearl Very Light Gray, which
is probably a very good way to list them.

The graphic is very helpful, thank you! Is there a way to get this new color
added? Is it way past due for these colors to be listed accurately. I believe
this new “Cool Silver” color may also be included in some of the other 2006 sets
as well for weapons/blades.

Adding new colors is something administrators can do. Bricklink has seen many
great changes in recent months thanks to the current team. Adding Cool Silver
would definitely help fix Silvers here.
This color was introduced along with Pearl Gold at the end of 2005 and stopped
appearing in sets throughout 2006. Bionicle and Knights Kingdom II used it more
than other themes.
