When Jon (axaday) submitted it under blue he said the back is actually yellow,
but nobody would search for it under yellow as the complete front background
is just blue.
I honestly don't know what to do right now. Maybe we should list it under
blue for one year, then switch to yellow for another year, and so on...?

What defines the background? The flag is made of yellow cloth, the lion is yellow.
So I believe the background is per definition yellow. What says the guidelines
that admin so often refer to in other cases of things that could be considered
"strange decisions"?

| I do agree it should be yellow. otherwise, we might start going down a rabbit
hole. the item is yellow with print on it but is still ultimately yellow

Too bad, I liked the idea of alternating every other year (or even week!)
More seriously, even though the ‘background’ is technically yellow as it’s the
cloth’s colour, as the main subject is the lion and it’s on a blue field¹, I
think people will think the ‘background’ is the colour behind the subject, therefore
blue.
¹ It would be something like: tête de lion d’or lampassée de gueules sur champ
d’azur (lit. translation as I don’t know the terms in English: red-tongued gold
lion head on blue field).
Or maybe d’azur à la tête de lion d’or lampassée de gueules (blue with a red-tongued
gold lion head).

Well, I won't argue against nonsensical decisions made by TLG.
But at least put a note on the flag or indidate the confusion in the part title.
