| Hi
I am shown "Seller does not support orders shipping to Germany." on store
BRICKBYBRICKEU. Same message in the cart, no button to place order, despite S&H
costs displayed as expected.
I'm asking, because...
- In the very recent feedback of the store I can see successful transactions
with other buyers in Germany (multiple Bundesländer).
- The store is located in the Netherlands.
- Its Terms list shipping costs to Germany explicitely, via DHL.
- I recently changed my BL address to Germany (one day ago), as I live close
to Germany, to get better shipping rates.
Does anybody know the reason why I'm "blocked" to order from BRICKBYBRICKEU?
Any help appreciated.

Do you get the same message when checking out using a Swiss address? It might
be that they have sold too much to German buyers and don't want to have VAT
problems.

My Swiss address still works, I could place the order, BUT then the store charges
me a whopping 21 EUR for S&H...

Contact them directly.
It's probably because they have no shipping methods for Germany active at
this moment.

| Hi,
the linked store is located in Denmark but based on the store terms he would
ship to Germany.
But it's the same for me: "Seller does not support orders shipping to Germany."
My guess is, that the shop changed the shipping methods recently and made a mistake
and isn't aware of it.
Or he just could have disabled non-domestic shipping and didn't change his
terms.

Maybe the seller doesn't want to deal with the new German law regarding plastic
packaging?

| +1 I don’t ship to Germany also. Maybe they still have it in their terms since
they forgot to remove it since it was a more recent change

| I don't understand how "the German law regarding plastic packaging" concerns
bricklink sellers?
Please enlighten me.

|
| Germany introduced a new law which requires business to pay yearly (might be
monthly or per package I don’t know the exact details) to cover recycling (I
believe if I’m wrong someone will correct me) and the cost of it is more than
is worth it to sell to Germany for most smaller stores who don’t have a large
customer base there

| Ah ok now I understand it.
That's a different law.. it has nothing to do with plastic and is called
"Verpackungslizenz" (German Packaging Act).

Oh my apologies, I thought it was strictly for plastic packaging since paper
packaging is easily recycled. Regardless I can see why a would stop shipping
to Germany if they don't have enough customers to justify the cost of compliance.

Yes there is a new law regarding plactic packaging. It forbids the use of plastic
straws for example .
But this is something different and I was wondering how this would affect us.
We Germans love laws and taxes for everything
These licencing fees aren't that high, though. I pay for est. 800 orders/year
under 20€.
Nonetheless I can understand, why people don't want to bother with it, since
it is a hassle to set up.

OMG! New regulations could very well be a plausible reason...

Sounds plausible. Seems like I'm just too late by one week. Didn't expect
this happening, looking at the size of the store and the history of its international
buyers...
Nevertheless, I'll contact him again and ask if it is by intention...

He also doesn't ship to Luxembourg. Maybe he has excluded the EU in his shipping

This is strange, in their profile I see the green square before the store name,
but inside the store below the name next to the country flag it says "Does Not
Ship To Me".
Also the message "Seller does not support orders shipping to Spain." appears
on top left and on the cart page, and global cart. But you can see it selects
the Dhl shipping method and with shipping costs shown, him also accepts PayPal
Onsite for international orders.
So... I don't know why it appears but there is happening something.

This might be related to the seller having activated the OSS setting but without
activating the VAT setting.
But this store is the same but shows no warning message:

| My best guess is that this store exceeded the 10.000 EUR cap. After that, a store
without VAT registration is not allowed to sell to EU countries other than it's
own.
Regulation from July 1, 2021.

Thanks. That could explains why I still can order to my Swiss address. AFAIK
Switzerland enforces a similar VAT collection scheme, but starting from 100kEUR
sales.

It’s a bit different:
— the EU has a common threshold now: it’s €10k for all the other EU countries
combined, not for each one as it was before (with some countries at €20k, others
at €100k),
— the EU now makes the marketplace check that their sellers are registered when
they are above the threshold, and I don’t think CH has done that yet.
