seen notations about this subject via another thread.

Moderator stated NOT to use phrasing like " as new" to describe a Used brick
with no flaws.
but bricks with flaws like scratches, dents, etc are allowed to be described
as so.

my suggestion for flawless Used bricks was " Looks Brand New"..

after reviewing the Cnodition aspects for listing bricks, there are only 2 choices,
New or Used, with no 'Condition Grading System mentioned for used bricks..

is there an Official Brinklink way to decribe 'Used' bricks with no flaws
on them?

You could say that the bricks look like-new but list them as used. Using phrasing
"as new" might lead buyers to believe the used parts are new.

Others may disagree with me. I'm not too picky about used bricks if they
look new for all intents and purposes.

Vintage parts or rare parts, I find it a bit more helpful to know if a piece
is in good shape or bad shape for the price. I tend to gravitate towards cheaper
options the sellers say are in good shape.

Fair point but in general that would be only a small percentage of parts but
I think this thread is more geared towards parts in general. When listing a rare
or expensive part it does make sense to describe its condition more in-depth
but it does make sense to not include the word "new" as it may confuse buyers

buyers don't want to know condition aspects of a $200 rare minifigure. .
used is used, stop asking questions...

as oppossed to using phrasing like " looks brand new" or "as new" for \ a
condition \\, what about aspects like this -- "/ nice figure, complete,
no noticed damage or wear, paint unmarred, tight joints"

or is Used just Used. no need to know things

buyers don't want to know condition aspects of a $200 rare minifigure. .

Ummmmmmm since when?

used is used, stop asking questions...

Yes and no. it can be used in good condition or used in terrible condition if
it has damage it should be mentioned but if it doesn't then it doesn't
need to be mentioned for normal parts

as oppossed to using phrasing like " looks brand new" or "as new" for \ a
condition \\, what about aspects like this -- "/ nice figure, complete,

I mean you can add that if you want but unless its a rare or expensive items
it probably not worth the time and effort to get that detailed

or is Used just Used. no need to know things

If its a standard item that isn't expensive or rare no comment does the trick
just fine if it isn't damaged. if an item doesn't have comments it should
be expected as per bl "terms" to be in good condition so why repeat it as opposed
to if its damaged your supposed to describe the damage like it says here (message
copied from macebobo)

"Used Parts - Parts which have been previously used and are presumably still
in good, usable condition. If the parts show excessive wear, discoloration,
excessive scratches, other marks, etc. this should be noted in the *Comments*
field. Sticker sheets missing stickers must be listed as Used."

New isn't necessarily to describe quality but rather to describe the origin
and past of the part.

For once Nubs_Select exposed you a smart concept.
But of course he's wrong, I'm wrong, and 8 billion are, also.

" where did this part come from & who owned it previously ? "
answer - New

Yes
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102#:~:text=These%20parts%20have%20never%20been,still%20in%20good%2C%20usable%20condition.
"New Parts - Parts are brand new, taken directly from new sets or were purchased
"as new" in another form such as accessory packs or Pick A Brick and have been
handled only for sorting. These parts have never been used in any manner. If
a minifigure or part assembly was originally sold assembled by LEGO, its component
parts after disassembly can also be listed as new."
Literaly doesn't speficy new as only a condition but rather also as an origin

It's not Moderator's role AFAIK and IMHO.
But they can/did guide you to the TOS/Terms pages.

BUT you can read them also yourself - after all, you *agreed* them while registering?
Didn't you?

you mean the condition page i referenced reading in the OP...

yeah, it's like people are just selectively reading things & ignoring everything
else..

hence numerous people have posted links to the thing i already stated i read.

not looking for opinions... or info based on the notion of "as far as I know"

I think you missed that those were two different posters.

Sorry, but I can’t link to actual physical books where Socrates wrote the quote
you attribute to him because, well this is the internet. Oh and he didn’t write
anything down…

nope, it was quite obvious, considering they have different accounts...

i think you missed the part where i reference The Forum Contestants as a whole...
hence my use of generalized actions within the thread & i did not attributed
the references to specific individuals..
starting sentences with verbs like "Posts" & "follows" instead of words like
"you", "he" or they"

as far as the Socrates quotes goes..
honestly...
it's like you intentionally stomped your foot on the Rick-Roll Rake i set

Friendly tip: you don’t have to describe your mini figures as complete. They
cannot be listed any other way.

You really should read the terms and rules. It only takes a minute.

ok Joan,
we know no one knows what you know, & you know everything.... so you are compelled
to inform everyone across the internet about your vast knowledge, because no
one knows what you know

but it's interesting that you assume i haven't read the rules.
because, your Joan...

'Newbies' log into Brinklink to buy a minifigures. they know nothing
about Brinklink rules, nor do they care, they just want to buy a minifigure..
letting them know it's complete informs them the item i am selling conforms
to what they are wantig to buy.

as you say 'i don't have too' but i choose too.
it shows buyers i have personally handlded the item & checked it.
it's not just some pump & dump brick listing i have 75 of, a minifigure has
numerous parts.. informing a buyer you as a seller has made sure it is complete
. .well .. it's what i choose to do. .

but hey, you do you..

i know. all of you other sellers know everything, but you all do not make & enforce
the rules...

If you wanted a moderator's opinion, you could have just messaged them rather
than make a thread where you start arguments with people that have answers you
don't like...

amazing how having conversations with people where no harsh words have been used
, in your eyes, is 'starting arguments'

i am not looking for opinions... & i do not have Moderators on Speed-Dial..

Sorry, but opinions are all you are going to get here. Our moderators consist
of members of our community and are not BL employees. If you want official word
from BrickLink, then you will be disappointed to find out that they are not active
here and only rarely address questions or concerns. This is our Forum, so if
you don’t want our replies then you are in the wrong place.

Exactly, plus we already have a help page about all of the conditions:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=102

"Used Parts - Parts which have been previously used and are presumably still
in good, usable condition. If the parts show excessive wear, discoloration,
excessive scratches, other marks, etc. this should be noted in the *Comments*
field. Sticker sheets missing stickers must be listed as Used."

Moderator stated NOT to use phrasing like " as new" to describe a Used brick
with no flaws.

Not Moderator: BrickLink TOS/Help pages.

is there an Official Brinklink way to decribe 'Used' bricks with no flaws
on them?

There isn't 'no flaws' bricks, even for New ones (counting, storing,
packing, shipping...)

The normality for Used (and for server economy) is, I guess: Used in decent usage
condition (which may include exceptionnally good condition parts) - but they're
still Used.

Only heavier damages are to be described.

And this should be (I hope) a minority of your Used Inventory.
Otherwise sell on eBay

if you had read the original post, it says "via another thread a moderator stated"...
& i already mentioned the help page.

so... yeah

not looking for"guesses" just wanting an official way to describe flawless bricks

There isn't an official way, just that one should avoid referring to them
"as new", "like new", etc. You could say

- excellent condition
- no evident playwear

something similar, or even nothing at all (leave the comment field blank). By
the way, I agree with other sellers in this thread that there really isn't
any such thing as a "flawless" brick - even brand new bricks right out of the
box will have flaws (usually small scratches but sometimes large scratches or
nicks - no surprise if you see how Lego bricks are manufactured).

Only heavier damages are to be described.

I do have to disagree to some extent with that. if a brick has anything other
than normal minor wear it should be mentioned in the parts description

So.. and what is 'normal'

There is no objective classification possible for used items.
