Currently we have several categories for all electric systems:

Electric
Electric, Battery Box

Electric, Wire & Connector

thus roughly separated by the type of component but not by compatibility.

Simultaneously, I know there have been several different control and connection
systems over the years, like:

4.5 V battery
12 V train
9 V light and sound
Mindstorms / Nxt
Powered up
PF / PowerFunctions
Standalone Light-up bricks / minifigures
(... any more? ...)


I've two questions:
(1) Is there a complete list of all electric systems and their compatibility?
(2) Is there a an easy way to find the full range of parts compatible with a
certain system?

So there’s some overlap

Otherwise I’d really be for a categorization by compatibility
