I haven't been doing a lot of international shipping to Europe since all
the changes and am confused on how the VAT is working? Am I supposed to have
an IOSS#? The only recent one I had furnished me with his VAT ID. Can someone
help me with how this is supposed to work?

Thanks,
Wayne

If BL collected VAT, you should receive an invoice and BL’s IOSS number (and
they should be available in the details page).

BUT, BL doesn’t collect VAT when the order is above €150
OR, when the buyer is themself VAT-registered and used the option to bypass
BL’s collection.

Also note that the IOSS should be passed electronically (through your shipper),
not on the package.

So his order is only $10, but no number was given to me, it looks like any regular
order from the states, but it is from France.

Is the buyer a seller on BL?
You could ask them if they are VAT-registered and used the option to not have
BL collect the VAT.

You will receive the VAT receipt from BL (via an email) after the buyer pays.

Don't forget:
the IOSS should be passed electronically

Check how to submit the IOSS number electronically with USPS.

Otherwise the buyer may end up paying VAT again.

Will the IOSS# be on the email received from Bricklink with the VAT receipt?

If anyone has successfully checked how to do this, I would love to know the answer.
And not the: just-use-pirate-ship answer, the Paypal/Shipstation/Post Office
answer.

Jen, Stamps.com has a spot for the IOSS# when you are creating the label.

It is where you enter the customs information up at the top section.
