| Hello!
I am new to bricklink and buying things from overseas in general. I am in the
USA and want to buy about $200 total from a seller in the Netherlands, how can
I estimate what I would have to pay in import duties and fees if applicable?

For anything less than $800 USD there is no import duty.

For anything less than $800 USD there is no import duty.

Oh ok, thank you for the fast response, I just saw that it was a possibility
and wanted to make sure before I bought!

Sales tax is not an import duty.
A simple proof is that it’s not federal and not checked at import / by customs.
(VAT is not an import duty either… and import VAT really looks like another name
for another import duty… except:
— you can reclaim VAT, not import duty,
— you pay VAT on import duty (yes, haha),
— and a few other differences.
But, yeah, in the end it’s all money you give your government so it can give
it back to you in another form.)
