Hello,

I recently got two OG boba fett's but the legs are glued. It seems someone
had tried to rip them off the body before as the legs themselves are pretty damaged
as well as glued to the body. Does anyone have any suggestions as how to get
them off? As they are damaged I don't really care if I have to damage them
more. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks, NG

Every glue has a solvent, the problems are to find the one you need in this case,
and not to destroy the Lego in the process... usual suspects are water, alcohol,
nail polish remover, soap, and I unfortunately have no idea about the more sophisticated
chemicals out there. I know from sad experience that nail polish remover dissolves
minifigure legs, so I'd be careful with that one. If you find something useful
please let us know!

It seems to have the same effect on Falcon legs too, as well as other Star Wars
parts, so I would definitely not use acetone

Oh dang. Try and find something to remove it. I try rubbing alcohol at times.

Maybe try glueing some cheap LEGO legos in a similar way and conduct some experiments.

Find something to remove the glue like a solvent. Just try not to damage the
lego at the same time.

I used to put them in really hot water that will soften the glue and then you
can pull them apart. It worked about 75% of the time.

Agree with George, hot water works pretty frequently... though. you may want
to be sure that the minigiure you have wasn't an old magnet one (the legs
on those suckers were impossibly tough to remove!)...

Sadly it seem as I did have an old magnet one, completely destroyed the whole
torso and legs... The second one I have I think I will just try to sell with
glued legs. Sad to see a $30 minifigure totally destroyed though, at least now
I have some experience with glue removal, and a really cool old molded boba fett
helmet to use on something. Thanks for all the advice though.

Thanks, NG
