Source: I own this set and it has been assembled since I purchased it new from Lego S@H many moons ago. It came with a Reddish Brown body and dark bluish gray accents (instead of sand blue).

So that's where the rare Reddish Brown 3038s come from. Is the eye brick
still Sand Blue?

It was decided long ago that sets from 2002-2003 should not have all alternate
bluish gray or reddish brown parts in the inventory. Only parts that would otherwise
be orphaned parts should be added as alternates.
