I have just listed a copy of part 47154c01 which has the number 5226 on the
bottom. No other part carries this number in the catalog as far as I am aware.
Maybe it could be added as an alternate item number.

That is a manufacturing code. The first two numbers '52' means it was
made in the 52nd week of a certain year. The last number '6' gives us
the year (2006). This makes sense because the set it comes in is a late 2006
set (4895-1). The fourth digit is a code used for place of manufacture. Another
way to know that this isn't a part number is because it is not molded into
the part like the copyright text. It is heat melted into the part. The real part
number for that gray section is probably inside the part.

Cheers,
Randy

Here is an image of a very recent part:

Part No: 84128c01pb01 Name: Large Figure Legs, Super Mario Luigi Overalls with Front Button with Molded Reddish Brown Shoes Pattern
*
84128c01pb01 Large Figure Legs, Super Mario Luigi Overalls with Front Button with Molded Reddish Brown Shoes Pattern
Parts: Large Figure Part

You can see the actual part number on the inside of the piece in the normal font.
The manufacturing number like randyf described is there on the underside. You
can see the numbers are rough and don't fit the format for LEGO part numbers.

Hope that helps!
Jen

Nooo...
This is a part that require more than a normal 2 part mold, it require a 3 part
mold.
64381 is the number for the Reddish Brown Shoes part.
84128 is for the Dark Blue part.

About the link that where posted.
I have taken some of those motors apart and almost every part have its own part
number.

Every individual part LEGO manufacture have a part number, some can we see and
some number are normally hidden or aren't even on the part.

This is why i say 5226 is the part number for the bottom part of 47154c01.
Most assembly/multi molds can ether get a new part number, but mostly they use
on of the parts number in the assembly for it.

Since I didn't have one of these, I went ahead and bought one that wasn't
working to tear it apart. You may be interested in the results.

Design Numbers ("Part Numbers") identified:

47151 - milky white front side of gear train housing
47152 - milky white back side of gear train housing
47153 - black top conducting plate
47154 - trans-clear motor housing top
47156 - dark gray motor housing bottom

All other parts in the motor do not have anything on them, but I suspect that
the small dark gray part between the gear train housing and motor housing is
47155.

The Design Number for the motor housing bottom was inside the part as I had originally
stated. On the outside of this motor housing bottom is melted the number 1323.
Once again, this is a manufacturing code. It was made in the 13th week of 2003
which makes perfect sense for the dark gray motor housing copyrighted in 2002
and released in sets in 2003. The '2' in the manufacturing code on this
motor is the same '2' as in the manufacturing code from the OP, so the
motors were most likely all manufactured in the same location.

Cheers,
Randy
