| Hi,
Recently i had very bad experience with a scammer, that tried to scam me twice
(unfortunately succeeded the first time), and i noticed how fast they were gaining
positive feedbacks from sellers. I assume they have made several orders in matter
of hours and all sellers usually leave feedback the moment they receive the payment.
This is where my suggestion comes in. I believe that (and that is what i do)
all sellers should leave feedbacks only when the deal is completed, when the
buyer actually leaves the positive feedback for the seller and respectively marks
the order as "completed" . It's only normal in my opinion. Because this is
how scammers gain their positive ratings and that makes them much more trustworthy
to other sellers.
Just a suggestion to all sellers.

Disagree here. 40% of my buyers have not left feedback. Of my 15,700 orders,
less than a handful have been scams.
I don't think it would be right to prevent sellers from leaving feedback
until a certain condition is met.

| I don't see where the problem is, and i don't understand why would you
want to leave feedback straight away for somebody that might never leave one
for you? I only say that feedback is something you leave to express your experience
with a deal.

Why couldn’t a buyer think and act the same way?

| I typically wait until orders are completed (and I get the little popup notification
that orders are awaiting feedback. In my opinion, orders marked as complete
mean everything has been addressed to the buyers satisfaction. My feedback is
not dependent on them leaving feedback, or the content/quality of their feedback,
just marking complete.
Now granted, a buyer can mark complete with open issues still pending, but this
is not the intent of the status.

The problem is that someone has to leave feedback first. If both sides have the
mentality of only leaving feedback once the other side does, no one leaves feedback
even if the transaction was a pleasant one.
Feedback is not part of the transaction. I usually wait about month before leaving
feedback just to make sure there are no issues with the order but I don't
wait to receive feedback first. The buyer paid, didn't make a fuss, so why
should I feel the need to receive feedback before I leave it?
My main problem with your suggestion is that it starts to restrict sellers to
act in certain ways that they may not be. Certain basic restrictions and terms
should be site-wide just to create order and reduce risks, but besides those
a seller should be free to sell how they want. If I want to send feedback two
minutes after the order gets in, I should have the freedom to.

And what about buyers that don't leave feedback at all, or won't leave
it until sellers do? Buyers don't need feedback to buy here, so there is
little incentive for them to leave it especially if the seller didn't leave
it for them.

I Disagree... of my over 14,000+ sales here, I have had maybe a handful of issues
with potential scammers... I leave feedback after payment is made and when I
sort and pack a Buyers order as part of my process; I figure, once a Buyer has
paid, they have met their obligation for a positive transaction, and it's
on me after then... of course I cannot control everything, and situations occasionally
arise where a package gets delayed, lost, or damaged (and those instances can
be worked out through positive communication on a one-on-one basis), but it doesn't
change the fact that the Buyer paid, *and* I received that payment; which I see
as them meeting their obligation for the actual transaction...

Also if there is an issue such as damage or a missing part, the buyer can
see the seller has already left them feedback indicating a level of trust and
that the seller has probably just made a mistake meaning the buyer is less likely
to be hostile. A seller is unlikely to leave feedback if they are purposely trying
to con a buyer.

No no - we're happy when the buyer has order and paid.
So we give FB as soon as shipped; this is what we think is "normal"
And anyway that won't change anything for scammers.
You'd better contact BL Administration!

Sorry to hear you got scammed, but "hard cases make for bad laws". To focus the
feedback system to deal with scammers, means ignoring the vast majority of thousands
of orders that are problem free, and the many feedback exchanges that work for
both buyer and seller, no matter who "goes first".

Thinking about this some more, and I don't see how this would even do anything
to scammers. I mean, all they have to do is mark the order as completed right
away and leave feedback and the seller can then leave feedback back.
This won't do anything except make it more annoying for the normal users.

That used to happen on ebay a lot with electronic wallpaper pictures sold at
a penny. Sellers usually said don't bother paying, just leave positive feedback
to get one back. An easy way for buyers and sellers to build up feedback.
