| So I finally turned on instant checkout yesterday and got my first order using
it. Today, I get an email from that buyer asking if they can add to the order.
Since they have already paid, they cannot add to the order, right? They would
need to place a second order and select the manual invoice shipping option so
I don't charge them shipping again. I then have to invoice them, adding
in the additional PP fees.
Any other way to add to an IC order?
Thanks for looking. Sorry if this is covered somewhere, I couldn't find
it (it is too early).

That's how I do it, except the last part as I don't add fees, if it is
just a few cents I credit it.

Basically how we do it. We give them the bypass to get under our minimum buy,
explain to choose the Invoice Method and that we'll charge a $0.50 fee.

Yes, IC isn't designed for order additions.

You can refund the payment and change the payment status as none and the order
status to ready.

If the buyer can select a manual shipping method you can manually invoice both
orders. Make sure both order numbers are mentioned in the PayPal payment for
seller protection.

I typically just have them place a second order, explaining that I will refund
the shipping costs on the second and combine the two in the same package (since
I don't charge any additional fees or a minimum buy, that is simplest for
me)...

There's a simple way - create a Shipping Method like "Invoice me manually",
that doesn't provide any exception or rate.
This way you invoice quickly adding your fee and no shipping for a multiple order.

Before telling them postage does not change, you might want to find out what
they are adding. If it is small parts, you'll probably be fine. If it is
a bulky part or a set they want to add to a small parts order, probably not.
I've been there before, with a buyer asking if the postage cost changes if
they add a few more parts to an existing order then they add all the bulky stuff
they didn't order to get the cheaper postage.
