| I have stumbled on a few new part numbers (design IDs) on LEGO's Pick-a-brick.
I can't tell if they are parts that should be considered new variants or
if the part numbers should just be added to the existing parts (suggestion in
parenthesis below). I'll leave that for the admins to decide and do. I'm
adding screenshots because many parts come and go each day on PAB and the catalog
seems to be regional.

| Hi Jan -
Is there something specific you are requesting with this thread?
Because unless you have new versions of the parts to compare to the older designs
to inform us how to proceed on them, there is really nothing we can do.
Cheers,
Randy

If there are no design changes to the parts, why not add the new numbers as cross-reference?
Whatever happens, please do NOT ever obliterate old or existing part numbers
-- always list either the new or the old number as a cross-reference.

We need proof from real-world parts that there are no changes to them before
we can add the numbers as alternate item numbers. If there are changes, then
we may still add an alternate item number if the changes are minor or choose
to split a part into different variants if the changes are more than that. Unless
we have that, we can't do anything on the catalog side. That is why I am
asking for proof of changes or not to existing designs. Renders of parts do nothing
to help in that regard.

|
If an old item number is completely wrong, then it will be obliterated. Otherwise,
I can't see why we would ever get rid of item numbers that are in use.

In that case, don't do anything. Or someone go ahead and buy the parts in
question or beam them down from the mothership.

It is a good list of parts where we have to pay attention to.
We will need to do something. Add the alternate part number or add the alternate
part. Close examination of the parts, once we have them, will show us what to
do.

Thanks, keep it as a reference, just like the list of unknown PCCs that I posted
a few days ago.

There will be decisions on a few of them soon, because some of these were already
being looked into. But some others have not actually been observed in the wild
by anyone here doing inventories. Sometimes it takes a bit for the new parts
to make their way into sets while LEGO uses up their old inventory of parts,
so we just have to wait.

I just came across [another] item where the number WAS obliterated.
I attempted to look up item 30457c01
That number used to exist for the complete assembly.
But, it was changed to TRex07 and no cross-reference for the old number.
I hate that. Old part numbers should remain in the catalog. GRRRRR.

But 30457c01 is still findable in the catalog. All old items numbers can be found
in the Log:

Also the standalone part its here:
[p=30457]
And that one is linked to the assembly.
