I will check your requests later, but I would like to ask you some questions
first.
You are talking about 'should be removed' and 'were discontinued
in ...' ....
Where did you get this information? And are you aware of the fact that old types
were used, even when new types were released? TLG did that in the 60's and
they still do.

Images on Instructions and boxes are not always accurate, but this doesn't
mean old types never appeared in a set.

In 2019 you added items to the inventory and now you want to delete them??

I'm not saying your change requests are right or wrong, but it's very
confusing.
So please explain my reply/quesions and I will check the requests step by step.

I will check your requests later, but I would like to ask you some questions
first.
You are talking about 'should be removed' and 'were discontinued
in ...' ....
Where did you get this information?

I have checked many and many and many used sets of all trains in 60s and early
70s. I also got photos of new copies for few trains and owned few trains that
came (almost certainly) with original parts as they looked entirely new, like
built only once.

The 1x1 windows before about 1972-3 came with extended lips and fixed glass.
the current catalog item is an undetermined entry and I feel it is 100% safe
to change the windows.
The chance to find a copy in new condition is very slim but checking multiple
used copies (and having checked multiple copies of all trains in late 60s) confirm
that there were only one type of windows at that time: with hollow stud, extended
lips and fixed glass.

And are you aware of the fact that old types
were used, even when new types were released?

Yes.

TLG did that in the 60's and
they still do.

Yes.

Images on Instructions and boxes are not always accurate, but this doesn't
mean old types never appeared in a set.

Correct.

In 2019 you added items to the inventory and now you want to delete them??

I had just tried to remove separate entries for trainrims and wheels as they
always came assembled. So that was a generic inventory change request to make
the inventory be as the parts came assembled in the new box.

I'm not saying your change requests are right or wrong, but it's very
confusing.
So please explain my reply/quesions and I will check the requests step by step.

As far as I could check in catalogs, this train was only sold in 127. It is the
same as the second version of 116 but TLG decided to change its ID number since
1969 for the market of UK, however they kept the ID number 116 for other countries
after 1969 too.

The only difference is that one extra black 1x2 plate is used (on top of the

Where exactly did you find this one extra black 1x1 plate?
And if there was an extra, why doesn't it show up in your change request?

This was a typo. I meant 1 x 2 plate.

Parts: Electric, Wire & Connector
and the battery boxes were also changed accordingly.

Thank you for your explanation.

Making change requests based on used sets could be 'dangerous' though.
Take the Train Rims for instance. The Light Gray are very rare to get, and most
are hardened and unuseable. To let the train running, those rims are often replaced
by black ones and my guess is that a lot of those are fake rims (made of tubes
from racing bikes).
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of black ones in inventories, actually were
gray.

If you add change requests based on sealed sets or almost new sets, it's
best to add the images as proof.

About your requests: I want to be 100% sure and didn't check yet. Hope doing
that this week.

118-1 (Inv) Electronic Train
107 Parts, 1968
Sets: Train: 4.5V

This set is from 1968 and there is strong evidence that it was only produced
in 1968. It was sold after 1968 but they were all copies produced in 1968. So
this set never came as alternate with

(old connectors in red) only appeared in those sets 118 and 139a, maybe also
in 138 and 139 (didn't check yet)

The Blue ones were found in sets:

I had those 2 sets sealed myself.

Which proofs that these old connectors were not discontinued in 1968.

I have strong belief that they were almost discontinued in 1968 however TLG used
their extra ones for supplemental sets. Note that these supplemental sets come
with parts

that works only with single connector bb0236ac01.
TLG decided in 1969 that they would replace them with

because these connectors had a better functionality. The problem with single
connectors was that they

just plugged off on their own from motor/battery box. Indeed, TLG did not produce
various connectors at the same time until 80s (in 80s, connectors had different
functionality)

I also found set 127 with these old connectors running on youtube.

I had seen it and I absolutely don't trust that one on youtube.
For few trains in late 70s, I did some "trustworthy"-check where I was looking
many used sets and see what percentage of them came with original wires. The
answer was about roughly 75%. But I found out that almost all sets that came
with box and instructions and in complete and nice state came with original parts
as well.

The one on youtube does not come with box.
Unfortunately wires and trainrims were replaced in many cases but in most cases
the motor has been original.

I can say that the one on peeron.com that has light gray trainrims because the
inner tray of box is the second version. If this train came with light gray trainrims,
it was only in early 1969 so it had to come with early version inner tray that
was in two pieces (one in blue)

This one is probably not all with original parts neither because the Train Couplers
are incorrect and probably they had another train too but interesting the trainrims
are light grays. However it comes with almost all extra (two wheels are light
gray instead of black). I asked the seller and he opened and checked the production
date of motor
69 06

See attached.
The connectors in this copy are

Part No: bb0236ac01 Name: Electric, Connector, 2-Way Male Rounded Narrow Type 2 with Hollow Pins
*
bb0236ac01 Electric, Connector, 2-Way Male Rounded Narrow Type 2 with Hollow Pins
Parts: Electric, Wire & Connector

The production of motor is 69 06 means 1969-the 6th months.

I am very positive that this wire assembly should be removed but if this is true,
it is nearly impossible to prove it. How can we check ALL copies of this train?

Once I can get access to the photos on my old laptop, I write more about this
set.
