| Is there anywhere to change the settings for the notice sellers receive when
an order is placed in their store?
I don't need an email for every order placed. I check Bricklink every day
for new orders to pack and ship. Having dozens of emails in my inbox just to
tell me an order was placed is not helpful - it increases the chance of missing
an actual communication.
Also, is there a way to send a different notice when an order is placed that
doesn't use instant check out? Because in that case I do want to see it immediately
to calculate shipping and send the invoice.

Pretty sure there's no way to turn off messages when an order is placed in
your store.
There's various settings under My BL - View Profile - Settings - My Orders
Settings
https://www.bricklink.com/orderSettings.asp?viewFrom=P
You can change the messages that are sent for various actions under My Store
- Settings - Message Templates
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/message_templates.page
'Order Notification' is probably the one you want for for non-IC purchases.

Depending on your email provider, you might be able to use filters to mark them
as read automatically based on a few keywords that only appear in those messages.

It’s not linked to your provider. Standalone email clients, like Thunderbird
or Outlook, can do it, and webmails, like Roundcube or SquirrelMail, can do it.
You just need to find the filtering options on your client.
