First time poster, be gentle.

I've spent a lot of time going through old manuals and reassembling several
vintage sets I plan to part out to make sure I have all the parts and that they
are in decent condition. I keep running in to a problem here with Bricklink
while looking up the part out values where I'll see the red warning: "Not
Included 6 Items in 6 Lots."

For example set 5580 and 6985 combine for 31 items in 14 lots. Since I have
everything, am I to assume I have some of the only pieces? That's can't
be right can it? Is there a way to see which parts are missing from the market?

In that same vein; while working on Brick Stock, I found a relatively new set
that I can not part out, but Bricklink gives me a part out value for. What's
the best way to handle this in the file so that I can complete the files for
upload?

If that red warning shows up when using the part out guide it means different
things based on which result is shows up under:

- Average of last 6 months Sales: Several items/lots from that set have
not been sold in the last 6 months
- Current Items For Sale Average: Several items/lots from that set are
not currently listed for sale
- My Inventory Average: You do not have several items/lots from that set
currently listed in your store

Don't forget that the inventories being checked often contain counterparts
like stickered pieces and assemblies.

In that same vein; while working on Brick Stock, I found a relatively new set

Is the Brickstock inventory up to date? Does Bricklink have an approved inventory
yet?

Ah HA! That seems most probable because some of these pieces are so specific
to the classic space sets I can't see them flying off the shelves on a regular
basis.

As for your latter point, I'm not entirely sure. I'm still learning
the ins and outs of this process and I'm definitely a rookie at the reselling.
I've been snatching up a lot of the newer sets to get parts I need for projects
for the kids and realized "oh crap, I need to find a way to get rid of some of
this. LOL.

Hi, the part-out value is informative only, if you're looking to sell sets
on BrickLink, the posted inventory is the official reference.

I'm not sure I understand your issue with BrickStock and the file upload
vis-a-vis the part-out value, these are two entirely independent processes that
I know of?

My mistake on that; I didn't realize until I was fumbling around last night
that you could upload and part out a set here on BL. When I started preparing
everything my "tutor" showed me how to do it in BS so I just stuck with that
process when the time came to prepare everything for sale.

The set in question is 43197; the Frozen Ice Castle. The part out function is
ghosted out for me on BS, but it appears to work here on BL.

I'm still early in the process of setting up the workflow obviously.

Thank you for the elaboration, as a general recommendation, I would suggest you
switch from BrickStore to BrickStock as the former has been abandoned since 2019
and the latter keeps getting fixes and updates.

https://www.brickforge.de/brickstore/

I can't guarantee that this set will be available to part out on BrickStore
but it sounds likelier to me than on BrickStock.

Got it! Thank you for the suggestion. I'll take a look at it this afternoon
and _hopefully_ have everything online by the weekend. It's only ~150,000
new and old pieces; but the former operations manager in me is giggling with
anticipation. I have a handful of other questions I'll stick in another
appropriate forum.

Thanks again fellas.

It only means that those items have not sold over the past 6 months, so BL can't
calculate a 6 month sale average for them.
