| Hello all,
I am new to Studio. I am creating a scene and I need to manipulate the arm. basically
I need to raise his arm. I tried using the hinge tool and when I do I the hinge
point is in the middle of the body. I can not seem to get the hinge point on
the arm.

It's the difference between and it's components and
and .
You have to either enter the assembly ('submodel/edit' or the 'assembly
edit' icon), or you have to break the assembly in its components ('release'.
Only then can you hinge the components. Also note the difference between rotation
(your screen capture) and hinging, although both actions use the same shortcut.
