Hello guys, just wanted to know if someone experienced the same as me. I made
the order for the Castle in the Forest the 1st July at 11:07 and I got the Lego
confirmation on my email and I paid via Paypal. But today I saw that the order
that was in waiting stance is now completely disapeared and my funds are now
in my Paypal account. I called the Paypal customer service and they told me that
the seller didn't accept the funds and they need to do so within 29 days
after the purchase. So Lego didn't accept my money and what now? Did I lost
my order? Because of Lego not accepting my funds within the 29 days limit of
acceptance? Please someone tell me I'm not screwed please. If someone experienced
the same, please let me know what you did?

Your PP charge was just a hold, when LEGO didn't activate it it expired.
I have had this with Parts & Pieces orders. You would get an emailing asking
for another payment method when it is ready to ship. Now the disappearing order
on LEGO.com IDK about. Try contact their CS about it. Good luck.

Yeah, on Lego website, it is still In Process stance. They won't delete my
order right? Just on Paypal that the money went back in my funds. So Lego will
contact me when they'll be ready to ship it?! If it is the way they do it,
then I am reassured. I'll contact them Monday to ask them. Thank you for
your comment!

Yes, this is the way it works. Lego only charge for orders when they're ready
to ship. When you place the order they will place a hold on the funds, which
automatically expires after a period of time (for credit cards it's usually
7 days) unless they turn it into a charge. When your order is ready they will
try to take payment - with cards it used to be that they would have to contact
you for payment once the hold had expired, but I've noticed that they now
re-charge it automatically. With Paypal I assume this means they will contact
you, as Paypal payments need a payment method to be selected.

Nothing to worry about at all.

Yes, this is how it works. I had back-ordered a mosaic set a while back using
paypal. When it was ready to ship, they sent an email stating I need to contact
them regarding the order. After calling them, they told me the paypal verification
had expired and I needed to pay using my card.

Are people being charged for those now? I got a bird and plane sets, and the
order shows on Lego, but I don't seem to have any charge.

Typically they would not charge until they actually ship

No, they charge after shipping. This is just about PayPal. The 30 days were up
and gabgenqc learned from PP customer support that TLG had rejected/not
collected the payment and that's why there was no trace of it and the funds
back in the PP account.
With credit and debit card there should be no problem. If your card expires before
January 2022 or if you used PayPal, better call lego.com customer support to
be safe.

Thank you everyone for these clarifications. I'm pretty sure I'm not
the only one wondering what's going on and TLG should send an email to reassure
their customers. I'm sure that I'm not the only one in the world that
haven't preordered any Lego sets before this one. Anyway I'm really thankfull
for this great communities answers about my worries. Have a nice day building
some Lego sets everyone.

Here is a little update to my problem. Today I contacted TLG Customer Service
via phone and they do told me that I made the right thing to contact them. Since
TLG didn't took the money from my Paypal account, I had to give them my credit
card number to be sure to don't lose my order. They did told me that TLG
had 2 weeks to accept the funds from my Paypal account and they don't, since
they didn't shipped the set (only releasing on the January 2022). They told
me that in the future, if I make another preorder, I should always use my credit
card but Paypal is good when the Lego website do have the set available.
