Just got my first Braille bricks - issued on Kladno Play Day 2021.
This leads to the question: are Braille bricks 2x4 bricks?
And do we need a new category?

I may be wrong but I believe that BL has taken the stance that these won’t be
listed as they shouldn’t be resold here.

I would prefer to see them in the catalog.
Used parts will show up in random lots in a few years time anyway.

Now that LEGO is using them like this, maybe it is time to reconsider.

As you say, they will turn up from time to time just like everything else.

Exactly what I think. They`re already listed in BL custom lots, on feebay...

I think they should definitely be put into the catalog. There is some old rubber
part that is in the catalog but currently cannot be sold as it is super easy
to make fakes of it. Perhaps that can be done with the Braille Bricks? In catalog
but not available for sale?

TLG's policy. These were produced by a different branch of TLG (The LEGO
Foundation) and explicitly not for sale. See https://www.newelementary.com/2020/08/free-lego-braille-bricks-released-by.htmlMakes sense that BL follows this policy.

So what happens when someone gets some in a bulk lot ? We throw them away ?

If this doesn't change, they'll all get sold on Feebay anyway...

Admin_Russell's comment when these were talked about last year
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1215862

If they are genuine LEGO products, they are candidates to be added to the catalog.
However, there are limitations that the catalog has, and we don't guarantee
admission for any non-standard item. For years, Modulex was not a part of the
catalog. Currently, employee business cards are genuine LEGO but do not have
entries. So we'll have to see when it comes to these how much demand there
is and how practical it is to include them.

Here is a similar one saying the ADP sets will not be added to the catalogue.
Things change.

I think that they belong in the category:
Brick, Modified, Decorated
