| Why are blocked buyers still allowed to send messages? How can they be prevented
from doing so?

I had someone once ask me a question regarding a forum post I made. When trying
to respond, it showed that I was on their stoplist and couldn't contact them,
something the user must not have realized when sending the question. However,
I found that if I went to their store page and clicked on the Contact button
on the top there, I could still send the message. Perhaps that is how they are
still sending you messages. I know of no fix for this.

| Ok thanks, yes I think that’s how they are messaging me still, through my store
contact button.

It's designed that way.

If your store is open, almost anyone can contact you. If you really don't
want to see the emails, then setup a filter on your email client.

Or alternatively, you could disable email notifications for BrickLink messages.
But then, you have to check BrickLink to see if you get any messages.
Just curious, but would a filter work in this scenario? Because all of the email
notifications for BrickLink messages I receive come from blservice@bricklink.com,
so you couldn't filter just by the sender address; you would need something
a bit more sophisticated than that.

Your e-mail application or webmail should be able to filter on the Reply-To field
which is set by BL if the member authorizes e-mail correspondence.
Otherwise, you should also be able to filter on the content as the username is
in the footer: “This message was sent through the BrickLink Contact Form from
member XXX” (you shouldn’t only filter out “XXX” but at least “from member XXX”
to prevent false positive if the username is a common word or if you don’t want
to filter out e-mail _about_ member XXX from someone else).

1. The 2 or 3 I have had to filter, switched to direct email as soon as I responded
to their first contact.
2. gmail has a variety of ways to implement what to filter against. Thus far,
I've not had a situation that could not be handled.
