| Hi all,
I have 3 of in chrome silver, but all are with heavy playwear. Either
they're slightly bent or with the silver partially off.
Should I list these, since they are not that common? Or should they be tossed,
put in the box of parts 'for play only'? Of course if they will be listed,
their description would include what is wrong with each sword.
What is your usual way of dealing with parts that are damaged, but that could
be used in for example a battle MOC?

| I wouldn't list them myself because I wouldn't want to receive them in
a package if I didn't carefully read the description, like it can happen
when it is selected in the Wanted List Buy page as part of a large batch.

If you purchase used items, you need to read the description, period.

| I didn't say I shouldn't have to, I said I would feel bad about receiving
these parts if I didn't read the description for any reason. The same way
I feel great about receiving used parts that look like new. Neither scenarios
have to happen, but as a seller I will want to favor the latter over the former
because as a buyer I prefer the latter to happen over the former as well.
The main problem is that the lot description isn't show in the Wanted List
Buy page process, only in at the very end when the carts are created. And even
if I read the description at this stage and wanted to exclude this lot pre-emptively
in a subsequent search, I couldn't so these lots are inconvenient for my
own use of BrickLink.

| I do list them with notes, but I always contact my buyers whenever there is a
note attached to the piece because I am aware that it is very easy for a buyer
to not see a note. I am also willing to cancel the entire order due to the note
since the piece may be the main reason the buyer made the order in the first
place.
That way there is no surprise for the buyer when they receive the order.
I once sold a number of chrome dishes that most if not all of the chrome
was worn off and found out the buyer wanted them for a project where he was planning
on painting them anyways so the chrome didn't matter.

Most of these swords I have come across are damaged.
My rule is cheap parts that are damaged are not listed. Valuable parts with
damage are listed. Make sure your correct describe the damage in the listing.

| I would list them. You can write "FOR PLAY ONLY" or "HEAVY PLAYWEAR" in the description
and then describe the issues.
As you noted, someone may want them for a battle MOC or they may re-chrome them.
