Renji's Toy Box is a father/son ran store. My little man is autistic so this
has given us a way to bond together and have fun at the same time. He helps me
with everything from sorting to shipping and has a blast doing it! We are US
based but ship world wide.
Most of our parts are new but will be marked with detailed description otherwise.
We have hundreds of lots and a ton more to come. Can't wait to start working
with everyone.

P.S. any tips or advice is ever so greatly appreciated

Welcome both of you to BrickLink!

Your store looks good so far, what kind of tips or advice would you need?

Best way to set up shipping options for international and local. I am using stamps.com
but any other options or ideas would be great. also any advise to sorting large
lots of lego? I have around 200 pounds of lego in totes that I still need to
sort lol!

Shipping options: I use manual invoice only to avoid the frustration of undercharging
for shipping. I have a couple of shipping options (cheap and slow, flat rate
and fast) for both domestic and international shipping. To produce labels I use
Paypal's integrated USPS label creator since I only use On-Site PayPal payment.

Sorting 200 lbs of LEGO: You will need to sort by element (part + color) for
the most common ones (over 100 of each), then just by part for the less common
ones. Forget about sorting just by color. You will need at least 200 individual
drawers/bags for these, plus a dedicated storage if there are a lot of complete
minifigures in your inventory.

I am using Akro Mills storage bins currently. I love the cost but arent very
efficient for larger items. I will have to see how to setup the manual invoice
for future orders. And thank you so much for the help

I’m also using Akro-Mills for small and medium parts, for bigger parts I have
an Ikea drawer cabinet and large zipping plastic bags, but I’m nowhere near 200
pounds.

Sorting Bulk Is Fun Personally, I find for me it works best to do several
sorts by first sorting into broader categories then washing it then doing a final
sort for each mold type in each category. currently, I'm using that method
for about 1200 lbs of lego and it seems to be working pretty well. For storage,
I would also in addition to drawers recommend plastic shoeboxes for large quantity
items and bulky items.
Hope this Helps!

I have been looking on thier site but the pricing is high for just starting out.
I know at some point i will expand to bigger things but for now I was just looking
for something to hold large bulk and the flat plates.

Hi!
Yup, They are stackable. I get them from home depot in Canada I'm not sure
if the stock is the same internationally so they might be available at home depot
in the USA also plus they are pretty cheap I get them for $1.30 CAD Each. Currently,
I have just over 100 for store inventory and 200 for sorting. It's super
easy to write on a sticker and add it to the front of the box and to add a barcode
to the side for easy scanning when adding inventory.
Hope this helps!

so there is a way to create a barcode for each part, have it linked to your inventory
so when you have to update that part it will bring it up?

Hi!
Yup, I Have a barcode system however it isn't necessarily per part but per
drawer/container but it can be per part if you only have 1 item type per drawer/container.
If you need help setting up your barcode system feel free to message me (so we
don't spam the forums) and I can show you the systems I used for mine.
Hope this helps!

I use PirateShip to print shipping labels (domestic *and* international), there
are a few other sellers who do the same; many print labels directly from PayPal
instead. I don't know if stamps.com gives you the commercial rates, while
PirateShip and PayPal do and will save you a considerable amount of money (which
you can then pass on to your customers).

I'd recommend getting a scale to weigh your orders - you can use a kitchen
scale if it's sensitive enough.

Invest in padded envelopes - I've found the most useful sizes are #0, #000,
and #2, especially the first.

I have a account through stamps.com and got one of thier scales and works great.
I have 3x9 padded envelopes right now and various size zip bags so I can sort
by the color before its shipped. I am looking into the small flat rate boxes
too for larger orders.

A small flat rate box (you mean Priority Mail?) actually holds less than a #2
padded envelope. And you can save on Priority Mail if you use your own boxes
and have access to the Cubic postage rates

I would highly recommend PirateShip over stamps.com. They are fantastic, cheapest
USPS shipping most people can get. Great customer service too.

Most of our parts are new but will be marked with detailed description otherwise.
We have hundreds of lots and a ton more to come. Can't wait to start working
