| Hi all
I think I might have had this answered before, but I’m still encountering problems.
I don’t have a PayPal account as mine was hacked a few years ago so I closed
it.
If a trader accepts PayPal, can I transact and just use my card (in the same
way I can with stripe)?
I thought the answer was “yes”, but when I tried it asked me to log in to PayPal.
Many thanks

PayPal supports frictionless transactions, where you present your card, and the
payment is made thru your card. I don't know how BL supports that, or if
they do. You may want to try removing all your PayPal cookies and stored data,
to see if it resets back to a mode of not recognizing you. At a minimum they
will need certain information to assist in verifying the card authenticity.

| Thank you for your guidance Nita.
Has anyone else got experience of how to overcome this?

Not really but I do remember that PayPal “hides” the option (they really want
you to login or register), so it may just be that you missed it.
Also, check the terms: buyers have more protections when they are registered.
(I’m not sure there’s any advantage to not being registered: they record and
link everything anyway.)

My suspicion is that, because buyers are allowed to fiddle with the shipping
address, PP may require a higher level of authentication, so they may well want
the customer to have an account.
OP, if you have a different email address, just create a new PP account. But
make sure you use a password that is strong, not used on any other account, and
cannot be guessed.

| Thank you both kindly for your help. I think I might just go ahead and open a
new PayPal account!
