Hi I purchased some white Bricks, Round Corner 2 x 2 Macaroni with Stud Notch
(#Item No: 3063). The condition is new. But when I received the order, the bricks
seems old, a bit yellowish and low quality. Also on the back inside the brick,
showing some words: PAT PEND. The LEGO Marking on the stud is also different.
I asked the seller, the seller told me the piece are new never used.

So are these pieces fake or too old?

Or these seems not item 3063 but is 3063a (Years Released: 1955 - 1956)?

Check my attached pics, left one is the one I just purchased, right one is a
new piece for compare.

Thanks.

They may be "New" as in never used, but they're definitely not "New" new.
The Lego logo on the top gives away their age.

It does appear to be an unused Lego, so it would qualify as "New" per the guidelines,
but in terms of age, it definitely is not. Still usable and still Lego, so you
didn't get conned on that.

They are "new" old pieces. New as in never been used. Old as in age. It's
very hard to find pieces that old now-a-days that haven't been used before.

Agree with everything already posted, however you may find these old versions
often don't fit together too well even though they are classed as new.

It has a stud notch, so it is definitely

Part No: 3063 Name: Brick, Round Corner 2 x 2 Macaroni with Stud Notch
*
3063 Brick, Round Corner 2 x 2 Macaroni with Stud Notch
Parts: Brick, Round

and not

Part No: 3063a Name: Brick, Round Corner 2 x 2 Macaroni without Stud Notch
*
3063a Brick, Round Corner 2 x 2 Macaroni without Stud Notch
Parts: Brick, Round

However, the part is from 1972 or earlier - that is, I think, when the logo was
changed. It's possible that the part is CA (cellulose acetate) instead of
ABS plastic, in which case (as Stuart9 points out) it might not fit well with
current parts (CA parts are prone to warping).

I
They are NOT from CA. They are an older version but are NOS (new old stock)
item 3063. He bought them from me so I know. I reached out to him already to
see if these will do or not. If not then I will gladly take care of my buyer.
I have not had any issues with these pieces in the past (have lots of red and
white)

Thanks goldknight.

I think the problem is solved. I will be refunded after mail those pieces back.
Yes, they have some fitting issues (not very big but still can be observed) and
the white color is slightly different from my other white pieces.

Thank you all for your input.

To be clear I wasn't trying to suggest the seller (you) did anything wrong.
