| I was just flagged as selling a complete set that was missing the bucket. Henceforth
it is incomplete. I looked over the list of parts and I do not see a "bucket."
I have all the parts listed. What is the bucket? Is it the container the parts
came in?

| After further checking I now see the bucket is the container the parts came in.
However, it is not listed in the parts list and is not needed to build the set.
Would not having the bucket make the set incomplete? Many sets do not have
the original box and yet are considered complete.

The bucket is listed as the original box and therefor should not be need to list
as complete according to Bricklink's policy. There is also a bunch listed
as complete and not having the bucket. Someone is getting over zealous with wanting
people's listings removed.

Actually I think this needs to be reviewed and a possible policy change for these
types of items, as without the bucket it is just a bunch of parts.

You need to have the bucket too even if all the pieces are there?

All the regular normal common pieces? Even the minifigs aren't that uncommon.
The bucket is not disposable like a box. No bucket, no instruction and no minifigs
and you won't even know what set it is.

Complete - Set contains all parts necessary to build all of the models (including
alternate models) in the instructions but does not have to contain the original

Again as I said earlier, that might need to be revisited. So I can just find
the parts and call it that set without it ever being that set and sell them at
an inflated price. It is kind of like the argument of after how much replacement
is it not the original anymore?

And in the word of uncle, "just one more thing" the owners and operators of this
site have the right to change definitions and remove listings at their discretion
for any or no reason. It is their site and we are just allowed to use it at
their discretion. And while more communications over the why would be good they
have a small team with a lot to do so sometimes there isn't time or the may
think it is obvious and do not see a need for more explaination.

Whether a price is inflated is in the eye of the beholder. Part out value and
prices for used complete are about the same for this set. This piece was only
in 3 sets:

Of course they can, but mistakes can are made by BL staff. Sellers can't
operate in a perpetual fog either. As of right now, the listing did not violate
the policy standard as stated and should not have been removed.

Yes... mostly.
Architecture sets and Yoda's Lightsaber are not permitted to be listed with
missing only the printed tile, neither marked as incomplete.

Without trying to redesign BL on the fly … from my perspective, the presence
or absence of the bucket should be specified. What is causing so much consternation
in this thread is that different people have a different interpretation of what
complete means. I doubt we can all agree in every possible situation. So, at
the end of the day, set listings really need a check list …
parts are all present (yes/no)
minifigs are all present (yes/no)
instructions are present (yes/no)
box/tub/bucket is present (yes/no)
sticker sheets are present or applied to bricks (yes/no)
That list would pretty much do away with the entire concept of complete/incomplete,
and make the seller provide full disclosure, so as to not leave anyone in the
position of assuming anything (because that is what leads to disputes).

IMHO, the bucket for 7159-1 was unique (because it was molded from black glitter
plastic). I am not familiar with any other buckets/tubs like it. So in one sense,
it is more than a box, and almost like the sticker sheet (as far as completeness).
This is one of those odd situations, but the bucket may have been the only thing
in 7159-1 that was unique to it, and in a sense makes the set complete.

There are a bunch of sets like that were the tub is special
but really the tub is just like a box not need to complete the set.

I can verify this was a mistake on our part. The listing should not have been
removed because the "bucket" was missing. We will amend the internal documentation
for removal requests to prevent this form happening in the future.
