They can’t change it to something that the form cuts off the end of. It cuts
off because of a character limit.

They can’t change it to something that the form cuts off the end of. It cuts
off because of a character limit.

There's a little bit of elasticity in the 'item name' field which
we can temporarily stretch out using a specially designed technic parts assembly
(bit like a medieval torture rack). Once we add the extra words in they hold
the text box in place and all is well.

I will need to try this on my computer, but 99.999% of the times that I make
Catalog changes, I am on mobile (either iPad or phone). 😕

I can't. Maybe it is a browser specific feature?
In any case...You can create a part and then while it is pending you can go add
more text, but I think they cut it down to the limit to approve it. So being
able to put over limit characters in the form may not work out.
I created about 20% of the torso assemblies in the catalog and while I don't
describe every possible detail, I have not USUALLY felt like something vital
was left on the cutting room floor. A few times, yes, usually on pieces with
printed arms, especially printed arms that are Light Bluish Gray or Bright Light
Orange.
