It would be nice to have an image recognition feature for parts, especially minifigure
heads, there are so many!

What color is that hair? I guessed dark tan, but didn't find anything.

It's a primitive light nougat head. That should make it easy to find if
it is real, but I'd need to know that hair color.

When I first saw it I straight away thought it belonged to a Speed Racer minifig
or maybe vey old Harry Potter?

These have similar design style with the hair speaking of which it should be
coming up with a search for 'Light nougat head hair' as the hair is quite
a defining feature for that particular head but it did'nt come up when I
searched

Thanks I knew it was somewhere under racing minfigs but it seems its not a 'speed
racer' minifig but rather a 'Racer'

I think it needs the hair print added to description

Wow. That is an absolutely awful picture. The whole part looks lavender.

Yes, it is one of those where it is just named after someone rather than containing
a description of the features. Such names are only useful if you already know
who it is.

And if you know who it is you would search for the minifig.

Does anyone know the hair color to edit the name?

I know this is years later to this suggestion, however, I didn't see this
mentioned in the earlier replies.

Now, in 2024, Google Lens on an Android phone is VERY effective at this task.
- taking your image of a part you have, or some other image on the internet you
find
- you can pair a search with text like
"IMAGE HERE" Bricklink

On a computer, and web browser, on Google's homepage, they have the Lens
features implemented by clicking on the icon in their search bar, that looks
like a rainbow-coloured camera.

The only parts that Google Lens was struggling more with, were the oddball individual
Bionicle parts I had. It had quick, quality matches for Modified Bricks, Slopes,
Plates, Tiles, Technic pieces, etc.

I've used this now, several dozen times searching for the BrickLink database
part entry to add parts to my wishlist, or my storefront I'm stocking with
parts.

Usually I'm pretty good at search without tools, but with there being thousands
of individual parts, there's a few I was stumbling upon and kept putting
back into my un-inventoried piles.

Hope this helps anyone else, before you get too frustrated!
