Thanks to the comment of Jonas here,
we did more research. It turns out that this set was only sold outside USA on the website of Lego.com and it came mostly likey with USA adaptor. It is true that TLG is very accurate with such things and would not make the mistake of selling a train to Europe or Australia/New-Zealand with a US adaptor but for now, there is no evidence of this.
