| At the bottom of the inventory page is a link to download your inventory. You
can choose an XML, CSV or Tab-Delimited download.
Not sure what was involved with the defrauded sellers but I try to download my
inventory at least once a week in all 3 formats.

You can find 'Restrictions and Adjustments' when editing your individual
shipping methods - towards the bottom of the page. Then get a new non-auto checkout
shipping method with no restrictions - only the applicable shipping methods are
shown to the buyers so if the order is over xxxx it will default to manual invoicing.

| I have a "Request for Invoice" shipping method for orders greater than 1 pound,
set up like this:
Invoicing: Manual
Set as a default among methods without a rate chart: Checked
Allow Quote request: Checked
Restrictions and Adjustments: none
So, I should enter an amount for "Max Buy" under the "Restrictions and Adjustments"?

Anything that begins with a left chevron / less than sign is hidden. It’s taken
as (the beginning of) an HTML tag, and therefore ignored (because dangerous)
and not shown (the tag names are never shown in HTML).
And there was no right chevron / more than sign in your text, so the rest of

Unfortunately, if they didn't have any kind of backup, it nuked the remarks
part of the inventory... which is probably the most important thing, as the order

With the backup you don't need to reverse the order. Just take the backup
and apply all changes that were made (except the bogus order and tries to cancel
it).
Maybe that it is more complicated because of the retail store, but there also
should be a way to get those sales and apply that to the inventory.

No, because if they noly have backups of the whole database, using one as-is
would revert ALL the inventories of ALL the stores to that date.
I wouldn’t mind. Would you?

The "store's inventory" is stored in how many tables? These need to be queried
from the back up.
During the time between when the backup was done and when the store's inventory
was wiped out, other sales from that store may have taken place. Ditto for other
additions to inventory.
One the store's inventory has been isolated and adjusted to reflect other
changes, it can be added back into the current database with another series of
queries.
But describing in general terms what could happen does not say anything about
the difficulty or cost of such an action. Who is liable if the final answer
is not the same as what the store believes it to be? Who will verify that the
queries to restore the data only affect the one store?
This forum is littered with threads about how a store's inventory has changed
and the only reason the store owner can come up with is "Bricklink did something".
Will the next such concern be more believable if Bricklink is known to dip into
the data?
This is an unusual situation, and it would be great if Bricklink could do something.
But there probably needs to be some policies in place regarding such requests
and how they are handled and documented internally. I doubt those policies existed
two days ago.
It will probably take some time to sort out the issues.

I _assume_ the BL devs use a development and testing environment when they do
their magick. It would be pretty straightforward to plunk a backup of the DB
into one of these environments and fire off the standard inventory-download-to-XML
request.
But obviously none of us mere mortals know the intricacies of the setup.

There is a simple fix...
Use BrickStock to open the order as a BSX file
Upload to inventory
Done!

I am very sorry to hear this.
Why doesn't cancelling an order and choosing the option to reupload the order
back into inventory fix this?

It sounds like they tried, but it overtaxed the system and corrupted their data/inventory.

| What a nightmare!
Truly sorry to hear that! Hope they will be able to fix this for you rather sooner
than later, but I'm sure admins are doing everything within their power.
Hang tight and above all: stay safe!

| Thanks to Admin Russell and his team, they were able to get us back up and running
after three weeks+ of being closed down due to a fraudulent order.
Thanks to all the community members that reached out to try to help as well.
It's been stressful.
Big *sigh*.
Happy Wednesday!

| Awesome to hear you're back up! I took a quick look at your store and just
thought you might want to know that there are several "0" quantity lots on your
store. Not sure if whatever the admins did had some weird side effects or what...
