I studied these trains for 4 years.
The windows 27 and 29 did not come with glass since about 1976. I am pretty sure this set and other trains like 726 came first with glazed windows 27 and 29 and later without.

The windows 27 and 29 did not come with glass since about 1976. I am pretty sure this set and other trains like 726 came first with glazed windows 27 and 29 and later without.

For the turntables I would like to see proof. Not only for 3403c01, but also
for the older variant.
1. I only found instructions with the old turntable, is there another instruction?
2. If 3403c01 really appeared in this set as alternate, does it only replace
the old turntable, or also the 4x4 black plate (hight doesn't seem to matter,
and plate would not be needed anymore). A different instruction could provide
proof.
3. Did this set come first with 3404ac01 or 3404ac02?

I checked a few sets from my collection, they all had 3404ac01, except for one.

boxed, mint parts, 1972 only?
boxed, mint parts, 1973-1975
opened a second sealed box, still only 3404ac01, box copyright 1973,
no paperwork, 1973-1976
boxed, used, 1974-1975
two used boxed sets, with all innerboxes and original stickered parts,
1 box has 3404ac01 and one has 3404ac02. Since this set was sold in 1975-1976
I will add 3404ac02 as alternate.

version. So for future requests, please don't just delete variants, unless
you are certain they didn't come in the set.
I believe your previous requests were based on images from other members. What
a pity you didn't ask about the turntables and instructions back then. If
you still have proof though, please add images. 3 variants of turntables in a
set that was sold for only 2 years, seems a bit too much.

My copy is mint, bought from Australia.
The instructions are the same. Photos to be followed.

In my copy, a 4x4 black plate is also included and it is perdio-correct. All
parts are period correct.
Since there exists only one version of instructions, such proof cannot exists..

Few years ago, I tried to check many used copies on Ebay,... and see which set
came with
I failed to find one single copy coming with this, except recently I found two
copies of 12v train 724-1 with red 3404ac02.
My understanding is that this 3404ac02 had a short production, probably few months,
and it is not sure if it came with all sets produced in 1975. It may also depend
on the factory where it was produced. In Canada, I got two 357 with red 3404ac02
but I did not find photos of any other used copy of 357 in the USA coming with
3404ac02!

Unfortunately I only found the box and instruction from my set so far. The train
was build and put away assembled in one of the boxes somewhere. So I can't
check the train from my own collection right now. The internet doesn't help
much either.
I approved the change requests for the windows, because of info I already had,
although in a previous request you removed one (you now added again), with the
comments that it had those windows with glass, although the set was of a later
version. So for future requests, please don't just delete variants, unless
you are certain they didn't come in the set.

This was somehow a mistake. At the time, I had to either request to keep the
other window, or wait to see if I can find more evidence.
After 2018, I found out I could check the production dates of black 4.5v motor
by opening the motor. So I requested about 10 sellers on Ebay,... to do so and
made a table of them so that I could find the transit-time.
Now, I am quite sure the trains from 1975-77 came with both windows with glass,
or without glass. Based on my findings, TLG mixed both types of windows. So some
trains produced in 1976 came with glazed windows and some without. I think the
same about those produced in 1977 but I have to retrieve my old files in a broken
laptop. Anyway, it really does not matter for this request because I know both
windows came with this set.
My copy 183 bought from Australia has production date 02.09.76 and it has a catalog
of 1977 inside the box. The windows have glass. I have got photos of many other
used 183 from even 1976 that came with windows without glass.

Are the windows white
and yellow
with glass in your copy?

is white. I have got other ones with white string too.

Can you provide proof that the set also came with

Few sets in which this part appear are exclusive Samsonite sets. I bought my
copy from Australia and it looks it was kept with its original parts so we can
trust the color of drum.
I have got this part with white cord from another set or another copy of 183.
The interesting thing is that this drum was used for
[bb0067a]
and
too.

Production date motor: 01-07-1976
I just noticed the superb state my train is in. I'm pretty sure the engine
was disassembled for the first time, just to see the motor production date

I also found images of a sealed set showing the newer turntable with 4x4 plate.
Would you please check your set on the following variants I found in mine
it's the older variant though (not on BL), with thicker 'walls' of
hollow tubes.
