Hello everyone,

We just released a new feature on BrickLink as a way to hear more directly from
you, our illustrious members. It's a pop-up that leads to a satisfaction
survey similar to what one will encounter from time to time on LEGO.com.

What I'm looking for at this point is verification that people are seeing
these pop-ups and any other feedback concerning how well they work. They are
triggered from almost every page and are timed (we hope) so that people don't
get them too frequently.

Screenshots would be appreciated.

Yes, I got a popup when I loaded a page. However, I'd already clicked a
link to go to another page, and didn't really register the popup until it
was too late. I clicked Back, but the popup didn't reload. What is the
time interval, so I know when to look for it again? (minutes, hours, or days?)

I haven't seen the survey again, since I initially saw it. How often is
it supposed to be displayed?

Eh, now that you’ve reminded me of this survey, I realize I didn’t see it again
either.

(Browser and PC have been restarted once or twice since the first and only appearance.)

The overall number of collections is something we control, but there is a randomness
when it comes to individual accounts. I don't believe anyone should be getting
it more often than once per month, but the frequency may be much longer than
that.

I thought I saw a pop up but it disappeared almost immediately so I am not certain.

I'm getting 404 errors so a survey will probably be great right about now

I generally do not participate in those sorts of gimmicks, but you'll be
happy to know that instead of ignoring it like always do, I have not had a single
pop-up to ignore.

I got one a couple hours ago but wanted to quickly see what I was looking for,
so I declined.
I think it was correctly blocking (not disappearing by itself, shadowing the
page underneath…), with a bunch of happy minifigures like on LEGO.com.

I got a popup, but the survey did not load after clicking on the link. My browser
has some addons installed that prevent tracking, loading of scripts from unknown
servers and loading of advertisements. It seems the survey is not hosted on the
BrickLink server. When opening the survey link in an other browser it started.

Do I have to enable pop-ups? Chrome has disabled pop-ups for me.

Not the same kind of pop-ups.

What browsers disable is pop-up windows or dialogs, like the file browser
that pops up when you click “Open file” in an application.
What this pop-up is a content that pop ups on the page you’re browsing, like
when you hover over “Market” up there and the catalogue & store “menu” appears,
or like when you had to accept the new ToS.

I got the pop-up when I loaded BrickLink the first time today when I hadn't
logged in yet. I was surprised as I have AdBlock Plus running on Firefox. Anyway,
I went ahead and answered the questions (like 5 or 6?) I had a lot to say in
the What would improve your experience on BrickLink? section. Ran out of text.

I got a pop-up, and my first reaction was "Oh no, not on this page also".
I just clikced it away, and I really, really, really hope I dont see it again.
Sorry, but not very happy about this sort of thing :/

Ugh, please, no. There is almost nothing worse for the user experience than
being pestered to complete a survey.

One thing worse is being asked to fill in a survey again, after either completing

get them too frequently.

Screenshots would be appreciated.

Ugh, please, no. There is almost nothing worse for the user experience than
being pestered to complete a survey.

Especially when you know they never care about it anyway. That's the end
result the user see.

I'd say there's been plenty of feedback and "satisfaction" input right
here on the forums but that is all mostly ignored too. Or, again, that is what
I see anyway.

But on the forum, they only get the opinion of the forumers.

This survey will potentially reach a good panel of all BL users.

Then all users, and not just forumites, can think why have they ignored my suggestions

We just released a new feature on BrickLink as a way to hear more directly from
you, our illustrious members. It's a pop-up that leads to a satisfaction

What I'm looking for at this point is verification that people are seeing
these pop-ups and any other feedback concerning how well they work. They are
triggered from almost every page and are timed (we hope) so that people don't
get them too frequently.

Screenshots would be appreciated.

Got it some hours ago, when accepting the page was black, I disabled uBlock for
that site and reloaded. Then it was working fine and I completed it leaving a

Got it, but wouldn't load due to pop up blocker. Disabled blocker, but couldn't
get to survey. Just a blank page. Refreshing didn't help.

I got it a few minutes ago. When I clicked to take the survey, the page that
opened was completely blank and would not load anything no matter how many times
I refreshed.

No survey received.

It doesn't matter, as I no longer do surveys for the Lego group. They once
asked me to do a survey, then stated that I wasn't their target demographic.

I may love Lego items and be fond of BL, but I have 0 faith in the Lego group
and BrickLink as a whole. Neither listen or care.

Pop-up was received. I minimized it and took it when I was finished with what
I was doing. It still worked after 2+ hours.

I got one, and the funny thing is, that I had just gotten one from LEGO on their
website, literally a few seconds before.

I had both surveys open in the background, and opened them a few minutes later.
Clearly the same company makes the survey, as the boxes are identical except
for the name and picture.

I answered both.
Both worked fine.

Wait! A survey of a survey?

Yes, I got the pop-up. But reflexively dismissed it, to continue with what I
was focused on at the time.

I'll add that I received the pop-up a second time, after clearing my browser
data, closing the browser, rebooting the Mac before reopening the browser. Alas,
after doing all that, I dismissed it again before remembering the screenshot
you'd like

You youngsters, that's what you call a senior moment

Further illustrating what you younger ones may have to look forward to in growing
old, that whole process with the second pop-up, was on my other Mac
(in case it's relevant to the tech folks)

Okay in my defense, I've two similar looking Macs side-by-side at home, and
hadn't had my coffee yet, at the time

I have not received a pop up on this site. In fact, I must have a great system
for blocking pop ups, because i can't remember the last time I've seen
a pop up anywhere. Are they still a thing?

I am however, the sort of person who enjoys filling out random internet surveys.
Really. But I like to get them sent to me as email links. Yesterday, a performing
arts organization I support sent me a nice friendly survey monkey survey, and
I was happy to oblige. I also got a survey asking me what I thought of how the
Canadian Government was handling the whole CoVid and economy situation and I
couldn't wait to log on and let them know how I really feel!

Please don't do this, instead include a FEEDBACK link somewhere on the page.
It works great on our company website. It is non-intrusive and people can find
it when they want to, not just as a random popup.

I just encountered my pop-up survey and instantly dismissed it while thinking
"WTF is this doing on here!".

Very disappointing to see these kind of things here. Has TLG's fingerprints
all over it and it really just rubbed me up the wrong way.
With so many changes here recently, and the ever growing list of things (both
old and new) that require attention to fix/make better (not to mention the gaping
holes of basic features/functionality that are just non-existent), do you really
have the spare time/resources to implement and look for feedback about a customer
satisfaction survey??

The people who want to know this stuff should just read the forums (yes I know
not everyone posts here and it's mostly negative anyway ie, this post itself),
or as someone else have very cleverly suggested put a feedback link on every
page on the site. That way you will receive genuine data about customer satisfaction
on very specific topics/issues/pages/features, etc. But I'm guessing the
people who want the 'customer satisfaction' data prefer to receive it
on their terms and not at any given moment when a user has an issue or problem
when using the site. Much more "convenient" to have the data in a format and
at a time frame of their choosing.

Yup you guessed it, I'm in the Bill Hicks school of thought when it comes
to those involved in advertising and marketing....(which is probably very outdated
in this day & age given the world around us).

Seriously though, you want good feedback, earn it. Isn't that what the feedback
system is designed to promote? You stick a feedback button on every page and
everyone will tell you when you've got it right and when you've got it
wrong. But I'm guessing that's not the kind of satisfaction that is
being sought out?

Sorry for being mr.negative (I guess I should've filled in a satisfaction
survey after all!)
