Yes, there is a different version, but this entry does not cover that version.
The title of this part is "Dinosaur Body, Triceratops with Dark Orange
Dinosaur / Dog Legs Unit (bb905 / 30462)".
I have the other version in a set that I am waiting to open, so I will get to
it eventually.
This request will not be accepted.
Cheers,
Randy

I think what you're trying to do here is point out that the part and its
inventory need to be changed.
You want the part identified by color to be the top instead of the legs. This
would be in line with how things should be done (the minimum amount of catalog
entries required). To accomplish this, the part title needs to be changed to
something like this:
Dinosaur Body, Triceratops in Dark Gray with Dinosaur / Dog Legs Unit (bb905
/ 30462)
Then the inventory of the part needs to be changed to show the top part in a
fixed color (dark gray) and the legs in a variable color (which would be shown
in inventories as either dark orange or light gray). If this were done, then
it would not be necessary (as it is right now) to create a second catalog entry
for the version with light gray legs.
Randy originally added this part assembly in May of last year. If he is okay
with the title and inventory changes, then I see no problem with them, either.

The part was added and inventoried the way it was to more easily accommodate
the inventory and items for sale of
The full dinosaur had always been identified as the color dark grey in the set
inventory and in the items for sale. I didn't want to have to change that,
so identifying the main body part by dark gray (its main color) made the transition
of the full dinosaur entry's inventory seamless at the time that I added
the part to the catalog (since the full dinosaur inventory includes the head
and tail in the same color as the body to create the full dinosaur).
So, in the end, we are talking about the difference between either one or two
catalog entries depending on when I can eventually get to my other set and add
the second triceratops body to the catalog.
This is something that the new guidelines for assemblies in the catalog needs
to take into account. Should the dinosaur be listed as color dark gray or n/a?
If we stick with dark gray as it currently is, then it is much easier to keep
things as they are now. However, if we go towards having animal and other large
assemblies as all being color n/a, then we can switch the constituent parts to
whatever colors we want since all of the parts in the assembly inventories will
have their colors and images attached to them instead of having multiple subparts
being variable color. Since we aren't dealing with this topic yet, I suggest
we hold off on making any changes to the part in this change request for the
sake of the current full dinosaur assembly.

For the part to be integrated in Studio, it is highly recommended to follow the
color scheme that LDraw uses. In this case, LDraw has chosen to use different
files dependent on the leg color (https://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptscan.cgi?q=triceratops&scope=description),
same as Bricklink.
I think the issue of dual colored molds requires input from both the Bricklink/Studio
teams to really think through the consequences of the design and selling platforms.
