I understand that given that we are all in the middle of a pandemic, business
is a little bit harder and not everyone can attend to their stores.

But at least twice now I've tried to check out a whole bulk of items from
various stores, but there are some certain shipping limitations (either because
of dimensions or default settings) that won't let me. I tried getting in
touch with the store owners, but despite seeing that my messages have been read,
I received no response for days until the items I'm trying to buy are bought
by someone else.
I'm just being flat-out ignored!
This is no way to do business, right...? I can understand refusal of service
or putting someone on a stop list, but this is just ridiculous! There's no
communication being done, or it's just plain neglect/laziness. Whatever the
situation is, it bothers me that there's no way to actually report this or
leave feedback if there's no order number associated.
Has anyone ever experienced this before and have any advice?

No need to report; just need to add to your least favourite list and find other
sellers (you wouldn't want to buy from a non-responsive seller anyways).
Out of curiosity, when you say there are shipping limitations, are these related
to lot limits or order limits etc? Or for example you want to pay cheap shipping
via Lettermail but you're defaulting to more expensive parcel shipping? If
that's happening, it's usually safe to trust the system on that, especially
for higher lot/item count orders.

It's definitely unusual for you to be running into so many sellers who are
not responding, unless you are asking them to bend their store terms for your
order (which I'm going to assume isn't the case for your situation).
I can say that most sellers have always responded to any messages I've sent,
but I do not ask about going above and beyond any terms they've set for shipments
limitations.

Check your email spam folder for an email from the seller or @Bricklink.com.

Have a look in your standard inbox, not the BL one. I had many messages that
did not show on BL. Look also in your spam folder

A couple issues may be occurring:

1) You are telling a seller you can't check out of their store? Is this a
BrickLink problem or a store problem? The BrickLink system is complicated and
there is no customer support for them. Not all sellers are able to easily navigate
the current mash-up of settings for shipping limitations in their shop.

2) Keep in mind that the vast majority of queries to sellers do not end up with
a sale. We often get asked for a shipping quote, discount, picture, additional
part, and get nothing for our efforts in return. This is a hard truth for us.
Most buyers who send messages do not follow up or place orders.

3) Many sellers are hobby sellers. Getting a response in a couple days is not
unusual. I would not take things so personally. You may feel like you are being
ignored, but they might just not be able or willing to answer right away. There
is a difference.

4) Filtering out sellers who don't have the time to respond to you is good
in the long run. Focus on those who respond in the way you prefer and leave the
rest. BrickLink hosts a variety of business models. Not all offer amazon style
24/7 customer service.

Good luck,
Jen
