Regarding the order status settings issue:

Based on feedback we received from you, we have decided to make a number of adjustments
to the original XP implementation. To make sure we were accurately meeting the
needs and wishes of our users, we held video sessions with several sellers who
had already given us detailed feedback in this thread and elsewhere. We have
also been closely monitoring all Forum posts and Help Desk tickets for related
issues.

The changes are almost finished and will be undergoing QA for the rest of the
week. We plan to release the changes to the live site at the beginning of next
week, probably Tuesday. At that time, I will post a detailed report of everything
that was changed / reverted / tweaked and also some notes as to why certain decisions
were made.

For now, here are some of the more impactful changes:

1) Invoices can be generated / sent regardless of the order status.
2) Sending an invoice will not automatically change the order status.
3) There will be less restrictions overall when it comes to changing order status.
4) For missing items, we will not expect full cancelation of the payment.
5) Waiting time to file an NPB is reduced from 7 to 5 days.
6) Buyer cannot set status to completed before order is shipped.

We appreciate your patience as we get some of these issues ironed out. We apologize
for any workflow disruption you may have experienced recently.

However...

This happened to me today. An order is now in "COMPLETED" status. Customer had
not even paid yet. Order was in "READY" status.
I can't do anything with this order now.

How do I fix this? I sent a message to the buyer asking him to reset to "READY"

Can't set status to paid from ready! I invoiced buyer but removed one item
via item removal system and sent reduced invoice, he accepted update and paid
smaller invoice but couldn't change from Processing to Paid, had to go from
processing to ready, then ready to paid. Either have workflow or not.... I'm
a developer, stop playing around. Either leave it manual or automate worklow.
I actually liked the fact that generating an invoice changed status, put that
back please.

There was nothing wrong with the way it was BEFORE they played around with it!

This didn't help me at all. I use paid/processing/packed/shipped.

From paid I have to:

change the order to ready and update the page.
Then change it to processing
Two steps when it used to be one!!

If I set an order from packed to shipped, I can not then select anything to change
it to back. The only option to go from there is complete.

can't change them back to the correct process they are in.

Regarding the order status settings issue:

This didn't help me at all. I use paid/processing/packed/shipped.

From paid I have to:

change the order to ready and update the page.
Then change it to processing
Two steps when it used to be one!!

If I set an order from packed to shipped, I can not then select anything to change
it to back. The only option to go from there is complete.

In the last two days I accidentally set a couple of orders to shipped. Now I
can't change them back to the correct process they are in.

WHY WHY WHY DO YOU KEEP MESSING WITH THINGS THAT ARE NOT BROKEN FOR AN APP THAT
NOBODY WANTS!!!

YOU TOOK AWAY THE SELLER TOOL THAT LETS US KNOW WHAT THE LOGIN STATUS IS FOR
A BUYER. YOU SAID WE WOULD GET IT BACK....WHERE IS THAT?????

NOW YOU MESS WITH OUR WORKFLOW SETTINGS AND MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT TO USE....WHEN
WILL THIS STOP???

This was simply a courtesy message to let people know a few of the major adjustments
we are making to the original XP implementation. They will not go live until
next week.

The things I am complaining about are not on the list. So it doesn't matter
when it goes live, what I want won't be changed.

Still, WHY!

There are other things changed / changed back that are not on the list. A full
list will be given when the changes are implemented, along with notes about why
we made these decisions.

However, I believe number three will cover the issues you mentioned:

3) There will be less restrictions overall when it comes to changing order status.

As to why we made these changes in the first place, XP is centered around buyer
experience, and we set up a flowchart and built the XP "experience" around it.
These changes to the Classic side were to help harmonize between XP and Classic.
But some of them we decided are not as critical, so we are going to roll those
changes back next week. That's it in a nutshell.

Its the sellers who pay you the fees that are paying for this development work,
please don't go down the ebay track where you don't care about the sellers
and focus only on the buyers. Annoy the sellers and you discourage them from
selling, its already a case that we make squat from selling Lego as it so time
consuming toi manage a bricklink store and your making it worse. How about consulting
about these changes with the sellers or maybe even, god forbid ask us what we
want?. I just had an issue with an order shipped weeks ago which I removed a
part from, the buyer eventually approved the removal which changed the status
to updated and neither him or me could change it to complete, despite both us
having logged feedback.
