Dear BrickLink community,

We’re all affected to one degree or another by COVID-19, so we’d like to
share how we are facing the challenges of this pandemic and how we think this
may affect your BrickLink activity.

First, we want to reassure you of our commitment to you as a community. Even
though we are dealing with the challenges of working remotely and the delays
that inevitably arise from the safety measures that have been put in place, we
are striving to stay on target with our goals for this year.

One of our goals is to improve site performance so that you can depend on BrickLink
to be up and running smoothly when you need it the most. During this time of
many uncertainties, we want you to be able to count on BrickLink being stable
and have a frustration-free experience. Please check the Forum for progress updates.

Second, we’d like to report that sales are stable during this period, and we
have no reason to believe they won’t continue to be. The number of stores that
have closed is, apparently, being balanced out by those who are looking for a
few more LEGO® bricks to help spice up their extended stays at home.

As much as we want our marketplace to succeed, we would ask that if you are required
by local laws to stop working, please do so. This is not only the responsible
thing to do, but obeying local laws is an obligation according to our Terms of
Service.

Finally, as a community-driven site, we are concerned about the health and well-being
of all our members. To this end, we have the following recommendations for this
time of crisis:

- Whenever you receive an order from a BrickLink seller, leave it in the package
several days before opening it. This should completely nullify the chances of
you getting sick from a BrickLink order.

- Exhibit a greater degree of patience with other BrickLink members, whether
they be buyers, sellers, community admins, or folks you interact with in the
Forum.

- Take time to build something. The joy of building is what started this whole
community known as BrickLink, and it can perhaps provide a little distraction
from the news stories and empty streets.

Thank you,

The BrickLink Team

Some good guidelines.
as a USA seller we can say that scheduling pickups via USPS has been a valuable
tool.
Your mail courier will pick your packages up at your scheduled mail delivery
times which eliminates the need to go to the post office, we NEVER had a lost
package using this service. I'd hate to see any sellers close their shop
before using this viable option.
If you're friendly with your carrier; our carrier texts us when she's
5 minutes away and we leave the bucket with packages outside our door to eliminate
contact with her and keep everyone safe, she leaves empty buckets which we sanitize
immediately.
We believe that online commerce is the safest way to buy these days if you follow
socially and hygienically responsible guidelines.
Wishing you all well.
The Heart Bricker family.

Here at Brick-N-Brac we are following the same procedures. Our postal employees
have really become heroes in this pandemic.

Thanks Russel.

The company where I work has declared itself an "essential" business. So, even
though our state is under a Stay Home order, I'm required to go to work every
day anyway. Sometimes I start shaking at my desk when the anxiety rises about
the situation. But I have over 100 Lego minifigures on the wall over my desk.
Taking a break to at gaze at them calms me. Lego has been my (Brick)link to
sanity these days. I am very grateful for all the sellers here.

Wishing everyone health and safety.

Thank you BrickLink Team for your update and advice!

In France, as in many other countries around the world, we have to stay at home
since March 16th, and probably at least till the end of April.

Postal services have taken extra measures to minimize the risk for their personnel,
but remain devoted to their more than necessary work. Many elderly people now
depend on them for basic operations, even distribution of meals. For these people
it is often the sole contact they have during the day. I'd say we all give
them a warm applause - as for the many dozens of other people who continu to
care for others in these difficult times.

LEGO® is a good distraction, and for as long as it's save to do so, we'll
continu to provide all LEGO® fans in France with parts!

Leg godt! And take care.

Another good tip for after you let the package sit is to soak any ABS or other
hard plastic pieces in a bowl with dish detergent and warm water for a while,
and agitate it occasionally before rinsing and letting air dry. COVID-19 has
a lipid outer layer, so soaps that break down fat and oil break down the virus,
and rinsing helps wash it away.

Good morning,
I write from Italy just from Lombardy epicenter of COVID-19.
The situation is very difficult it seems to live in films, the streets are all
empty, very few planes pass. However, we must be strong. In Italy we have 3 words
that we continue to hang on the balconies and we all say # ANDRA'TUTTOBENE
It is a difficult time, even today 26 March in Italy the victims of this war
are 712
My BrickLink store is currently open, but all shipments are suspended (at the
moment) until April 3rd. Everything is specified in the store's policies.

Cioa Claudio,

La situatione è difficile anche qui. Siamo in auto-isolamento qui.

La cosa positiva è che gli italiani sono molto positivi e socilase molto. Firmano
e ballano sui balconi. Qui, siamo molto silenziosi. Niente danza, niente musica
sui balconi.

empty, very few planes pass.
Claudio

Cioa Claudio,

La situatione è difficile anche qui. Siamo in auto-isolamento qui.

La cosa positiva è che gli italiani sono molto positivi e socilase molto. Firmano
e ballano sui balconi. Qui, siamo molto silenziosi. Niente danza, niente musica
sui balconi.

Reza

What you see on the balconies and windows are particular songs.
National anthem (Goffredo Mameli)
Azzurro (Adriano Celentano)
Flying (Domenico Modugno)
It is a way to make Italy understand that despite the distances and isolation
we are close and united, to encourage our doctors and nurses, it serves to give
us hope. But in Lombardy, which is the most affected region, there is no singing.

One step I take as a buyer is to cut the box open outside, put my elements in
hot soapy water and wash them immediately. Afterwards I was my hands thouroughly
then sanitize them.

Do Corona (COVID-19) survive in the freezer?
Put the package in there if that can help. Then it would be enough with about
24 hours.

Yes - it will survive for a very long time.

A hot place and humid place is better to get rid of it.

it is not certain, that cold temperatures kill the virus. it is sure that above
60 degrees the virus dies. The simplest thing is to spray the alcoholic disinfectant

Virus thrive in cold, heat kills it 85F. Alcohol must be AT LEAST 150proof to
kill. Everclear (USA only probably) is 190 proof.

I've been washing all my parts in warm, soapy water immediately after opening
them for a few months already. Just wash your hands after throwing away the packaging
and that's all you really need to do.
Sticker sheets and instructions on the other hand, just let them sit either in
the sun or in the cold for a few days.
