Need help deciding if this will work on my next project please!

Do these two halves snap together? Are they hard to get apart once connected?
I see these technic turntable parts being used in the new r/c 4x4 set. They have
two of them, connected together on the outside, to allow the assembly in the
middle (the front axle) to rotate side-to-side independently of the body.

I want to do something similar, but with only one turntable...

They clip together.
AFAICT, they are very hard to get apart, even impossible with only your fingers
(I don’t have a serious reason to get them apart, so I didn’t want to damage
them with tools).
