I have 11 new Naginatas all from the Titan Mech set 70676. However, there is
an obvious color difference among them when held up to the light. 5 of them look
trans-black, and the others look trans-dark blue (even the staff of the piece
has a bluish look when held just right in the light).

But the current Bricklink catalog only has Naginatas with a trans-orange blade
and trans-light blue, both of which mine don't fit. Does anyone else with
these pieces notice this color discrepancy? I'm not sure how to list these
pieces as I feel I'd be listing them incorrectly.

So the two do look like trans-light blue in the pic, but look darker in real
life. But the other three are obviously trans black which bl has no listing for.
And they as ll came from the titan mech set.

They are actually supposed to be marbled pieces where the Pearl Dark Gray is
blended with the Trans-Light Blue in the blade. This is most likely what is making
the Trans-Light Blue ones look darker. And you're kind of lucky since many
of them have hardly any Trans-Light Blue in them. However, this is not the first
time I have seen the other ones. I have a feeling that someone at the factory
messed up and ordered a batch of the parts be made with either Trans-Black or
Trans-Clear at one time.

Here is my "pending-being-an-admin-again" opinion on this: I would seriously
suggest creating a new catalog entry for these and adding them as an alternate
to the set, even though the piece was never intended to be made or make it into
official sets. The pieces obviously exist, so we should account for that.

Cheers,
Randy

Thanks for the reply! Though adding a catalog entry and an alternate to a set
is something I've never done before, not sure how to go about it.

It looks like they are correcting an error. Box images and the part list showed
a blue one and we initially used the blue render made by Lego, but people kept
finding them to be barely blue if at all, so we switched pics. I guess Lego
figured out how to get the right ones out there.
