We recently sold our last black 30162 (binoculars) to an experienced buyer (almost
300 feedback).

Upon arrival, they contacted us requesting a refund, saying "...the binocular
you
sent is not a real Lego piece, but a fake/copy. The real Lego binoculars have
the Lego logo and part ID printed, which this one does not have."

We've explained to the buyer that the black binoculars were last placed into
sets in the late 90s, and at the time many smaller parts did not have the Lego
logo printed on them. In fact, the two black binoculars we had to sell were
from the Desert Expedition set, many parts of which are still in our inventory
for sale.

So far, we have not heard back about the explanation, but would like to ask the
community how to handle something like this. We assumed, with the amount of
feedback this user had, they would be familiar with classic/vintage Lego not
having Lego and part number printed on them. However, that must not be the case.

What is your recommendation for educating BrickLink buyers about things like
this and not risk an undeserved neg?

The part probly is legit, as you say. In our case, I would refund for the part
plus whatever they feel is fair for shipping. That's about the best you can
do.
