OMG, I added this set to the catalog way back in 2005! With the picture - that's the house I used to live in back then. Memories . . .

Okay, so these requests are based on some logical inferences. First, the side
of the bucket (both these images from eBay and the catalog image I added many
years ago) says that the set included 100 extra pieces. Since what can be seen
of the parts list appears to match the inventory done from a parts list, we can
safely assume that these extra pieces are not documented - also, that they were
probably always included for this set.

So it stands to reason that anyone opening a new set would discover 100 completely
unknown pieces (probably basic bricks).

The set also states that the 100 bonus pieces brings the total parts included
to 536. Therefore, the original inventory based on the parts list should include
436 pieces. To my flabbergastation (it's a new word!) I discovered that
if BrickLink's inventory idiosyncrasies were corrected, that's exactly
the total we'd have.

Finally, the parts I'm asking to change are known to have come assembled
in pretty much every set from this time period. Is that evidence? Nope. I
have no pictures of a sealed set. Therefore, approve these changes at your own
risk. They're based solely on educated conjecture.

You might add an inventory note stating that the set includes 100 unknown pieces
not shown in the inventory. Here's my suggested wording for this note, which
I urge you to implement:

"Dear friends, comrades, associates, brothers and sisters: behold now this
incomplete inventory! It rests in an uneasy, trembling state of mystery. When
you open a sealed version of this set, prepare for anything to occur. There
are rumored to be 100 extra pieces inside about which the best efforts of our
wisest sages have revealed precisely zip. May the gods of fortune smile upon
you and may you find that the 100 pieces are all cypress trees. Those things
are worth something like $25 brand new. Each. Do not hesitate to calculate
your riches - that's $2,500.

If they are cypress trees, tell no one. If they're not, tell us.

Sincerely,

The BrickLink Team"

With Jonas' extra images of sealed set contents, all of these requests were
very easy to go through.

I also added an inventory note to the set. It isn't as attention grabbing
as yours is below, but I think it gets the point across.

Cheers,
Randy
