BrickSync is showing in our logs that it hasn't been allowed to authorization
on BrickLink since the 29th!?!?!?!?!?

Help. Is anyone else seeing this error? How have you handled it?

Thanks.

We were out of town for the holiday and this is the first time I had looked at
my logs on BrickSync so I had no idea we had a problem.

Anyway, we have quit BrickSync and restarted it and it seems to be working again.

Yes, this is a new issue. Once it loses connection for some period of time it
does not reconnect correctly without closing it. I brought this up on another
forum and was asked for more information. I asked the developer to give me a
registration for the old version but have not heard back. Apparently this issue
does not happen with the previous version.

Anyone else noticing this issue with their bricklink I would appreciate a post
here, the more information I can give the author the better.

Hi,

I've experienced this problem too (twice) in the last week.
I had to quit and restart Bricksync and it resumed synchronisation without any
issues. Never had this in the previous version.

Cheers,
Dennis

We actually haven't gotten around to updating to the new version, so that
isn't the issue.

I have seen it mentioned elsewhere that it is the new version of Bricksync, but
also that it only started happening after the recent 4 hour downtime for site
updates. So it could be that the site updates did something that made this happen
and it has nothing to do with the version of Bricksync that you are using.

I believe what's happening is that BL moved to a new web hosting server.
BS does a DNS lookup to get the IP of BL when it starts, but if that IP changes,
the only way to reinitialize the connection is to quit/restart.

Ugh, this is correct, the logs do not lie.

Though previous logs show another set of IP addresses so who knows if this is
the issue.

I am sure the current issue is an accident from the update, but you might start
adjusting to life without it. I would be rather surprised if LegoBricklink allows
BrickSync the access it has had now that LegoBricklink will be the official resale
market.

FYI I am pretty sure it is the same api access that brickstock uses.

I know very little about such things, but I would expect that if Lego was able
to prevent automatically sharing inventory between LegoBricklink and BrickOwl,
they would do it.
