I received the Lego Set (Fire Brigade 10197) I ordered and upon opening the first
set of bags realized I was missing a piece or two. As I continued with what I
had I came to the conclusion that one of the bags from "Part 1" was missing.
I cannot continue the build and have messaged the seller about a week ago with
no response since. I set the message as High Priority.

Today I followed up to see if they had seen my message and have yet to get a
response.

Is this normal for a user (in this case a seller) to not respond over this length
of time? Also, how should I go about getting them to correct my order?

I assume you did use the BL message system, and if that is the case and no response
after a week, I'd file a NSS to get his attention.

Did you only receive the bags, or war a bag missing in the original Lego Box?
If something was missing inside the unopened box, you can also file that on the
Lego missing parts page. List up what was missing in the box (use the parts list
in the manual for the part numbers) and tell Lego that a bag was missing. I think
you will get your parts then for free.

Was the set sold as new and sealed or something different?

It stated that the set was sealed, but seeing as though the set was from 2009
I am not sure what Lego could do for me.

If the set really was sealed, then the missing pieces would be the fault of the
LEGO company, not the seller. When a sealed set is missing pieces, it's
just not possible to expect a seller to know that.

The first production run of this set was known to contain errors. It was corrected
in later runs and at the time of release Lego would send out a bag to correct
the error on request. It may be worth contacting them in case they still have
stock of the correction bags.

This is not an issue for the seller, if the set was sealed. This is specifically
mentioned in the condition guidelines.

Sealed - Set is brand new, with unopened factory seals intact, all inner bags
and contents presumably sealed, intact, complete and untampered with as shipped
by the manufacturer. Seller cannot guarantee that a sealed set is complete.

If you bought the set new and it contains missing pieces (should not be many)
then it's LEGO's fault, not the sellers. It's impossible for a seller
to know. Even LEGO themselves didn't know hence this situation.

Take it as a general error and source the missing parts from somewhere else.
Nobody is to fault here. I'm guessing they've not replied to you because
imagine this;

"Hi, I bought an expensive new set off you and there's missing pieces" screams
scam. Of course, it's just a matter of perception but that's mine.

Gotcha, this makes sense. I will contact Lego and see if there is a chance they
can send me any missing pieces. I had falsely assumed that a Set from a "while
back" would not be able to be corrected seeing as though some pieces may not
be manufactured anymore. If not, like you said, I can try to buy the remaining
parts.

Thank you everyone for clearing this up for me!

What pieces are missing? If we have them we can send them to you free of charge.
Lego has been good to us so I like it when we can help someone out from time
to time. Just list the part number and the color.

It seems like a fair bit are missing so far. I stopped building it so there may
be more. At the moment I'm missing close to 100 I think. And please, let
me pay you something for your trouble. I will provide the missing parts list
soon.

Thank you!
