Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 9604 Name: Dacta Pneumatic Set (Undetermined Version)
*
9604-1 (Inv) Dacta Pneumatic Set (Undetermined Version)
123 Parts, 6 Books, 2 Gear, 1992
Sets: Educational & Dacta: Technic
Marked for Deletion

* Change 12 Part Black {4459 Technic, Pin with Friction Ridges Lengthwise WITHOUT Center Slots to 2780 Technic, Pin with Friction Ridges Lengthwise WITH Center Slots}

Comments from Submitter:
Axaday has submitted the inventory of the early version of this set with the new type 2780.
I know this undetermined set entry will probably be marked for deletion, but the inventory change will correct the timeline for the old part type 4459.

Accepted. The timeline for 4459 will not show as changed until the daily maintenance
runs next time.

Cheers,
Randy

As I personal note, I bought a case of 10 of this set and knew nothing of 4459
before. I was elated to see I'd get 120 of a rare piece worth $1 and very
crushed to learn that I actually got 120 of the least valuable piece found on
Bricklink.

I wouldn't want to have them when construct something in LEGO Technic
https://brickset.com/article/42193/a-history-of-technic-pins
I copied this from this link:
"The original frictionless connector pin resulted in floppy constructions
which must have been seen as a problem in the increasingly complex Technic sets
of the early 1980s. This pin enabled beams to be connected together very securely.
In fact, so securely that it's extremely difficult to get them apart again.
The only way to remove this pin from beams is with pliers or teeth.

If you come across any, throw them away, do not mix with the later version
or you will regret it!"

I wasn't going to use them. I was going to keep one as a treasure and sell
the rest to other treasure hunters. But I don't collect 2780.
