I have not added another animal to the Woodland Creatures collection. I finally
built another animal, a deer (buck to be specific).

I'll make instructions in due time. Currently it cannot stand freely without
a base to anchor it down, but I'll try to see if I can fix that somehow.
It's also not properly scaled with the rest of the animals, as it would a
lot of weight for those skinny lego legs, and not sure it needs to be.

cheers all, and have a nice Sunday

Miro

I can't wait to see the instructions. I already have three of your animals
- two built.

Fantastic!
I retired from selling insurance with The Hartford Insurace Company and their
logo was a stag like this- that's the first thing that popped into my mind
when i saw it lol.
Great job, do you have a link to the other animals in your collection? would
love to see.

Thanks everyone. Glad you all think the antlers look the part.

Nice build.
If you upped the scale, the legs would upscale too.
Two of those fighting each other would look amazing.

But they wouldn’t be stronger. If you double the scale (x2), you multiply the
weight by eight (2x2x2) but the legs’ section (their “width”, hence their hinges’
strength) is only multiplied by four (2x2). The legs would be weaker.
The smaller, the stronger.

Agreed, if you up the scale a bit, you can add more parts or use other hinges
with more friction but there is a “right” scale where you can have enough details
and a solid structure. Up the scale again and you only add weight and fragilize
the build.
And I think Miro found that “right” scale

I cannot deny it's goodness.
I think replacing the joints with locking joints would do wonders.
You're a fraction too much friction!
I like the antler scale alot - it's perfect.

Thanks all for great discussion on scaling up the model. I thought about scaling
it up to match the scale with the rest of the animals, as was the original intent,
but I wanted to see how it would hold up at this smaller scale first. If I scale
it up, I would have other options for connections, and certainly would not use
modified plates with clips for that. I'll see what I can do for the next
iteration.

I did only mention the scale due to your concern.
It's pretty good as it is, and locking hinges may only offer you limitations.
No one wants that!
