I have checked many photos: there is only one box art. The only difference is
on the other side of the flap box: the American box has some texts on the left
top corner (see second photo) but the European version has a photo which shows
the two parts that are currently have match ID 1.
On the back side of the box, there is another photo. The same photo can be be
seen on the other side of the instructions.
Where the photo on bricklink come from then? It is not the photo of a box, but
it is taken from a catalog. See attached for example the image of a catalog from
1986 in which you can see the same photo than the one on BL.
