Inventory Item IDs are unique numbers assigned to each item changed or added
in an inventory. The most recent IIID was 854380 (as of this moment), meaning
854,380 inventory actions have occurred during BrickLink's history.

IIIDs can be seen on the left-hand side of any inventory. I have mine set to
show by default, but there's a link at the bottom of each inventory page
where they can be turned on for an individual inventory. These IDs can make
change requests for inventories quicker and easier if used properly.

So what was the very first BrickLink inventory? This somber fellow, on January
22nd, 2003:

Minifig No: gen001 Name: Skeleton - Standard Skull, Floppy Arms
*
gen001 (Inv) Skeleton - Standard Skull, Floppy Arms
Minifigures: Castle

The IIIDs for this figure are 1, 2, 3, and 4 (photo attached) and the first part
ever added to any inventory was the skeleton torso.

By the way, this unassuming little set had the honor of being the first set ever
inventoried here on BrickLink:

Set No: 4615 Name: Red Recon Flyer
*
4615-1 (Inv) Red Recon Flyer
20 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2002
Sets: 4 Juniors: Jack Stone: Airport

Boy that is a nice looking set, can't understand why Lego was struggling
then.

It is the only set I bought during my dark age
I had a use for that pilot figure. I still have it.

Mainly mismanagement and overproduction..... Most of our stock came from that
era due to Lego and retail store blowouts. Lego 'used' to regularly have
S@H specials at 50% off.....
Man, do I miss those days
