10000th inventory change request
Congratulations, SezaR! I always knew you were capable of this achievement.
I got an excellent lot including some train sets and space sets. The condition
of all sets is excellent considering the age. Boxes are in good or very good
condition and sets are complete including instructions.
In the lot, four space sets were included.
1)
.
So
two white sp063 and two red sp064 should come with 926
one white sp063 should come with 926 and
and
one white sp063 should come with 891.
I cannot say that if the last red sp064 comes with 6841 or 889.

Is it not a bit 'dangerous' to change set inventories based on a big
lot of used lego. Even if the sets seem to be complete and in good condition.
Such a change should only be made if the source of the existing inventory is
not a sealed set.
I don't call it a big lot of used sets. It is the following item
173205892929
I am amazed how all sets were neat and complete in their boxes. Only the small
space sets missed their boxes.
More interesting is that there was a letter inside the set 7725 which was the
answer of a Lego sale manager concerning the set 7725 and how to use transformer.
The owner was overly organized.
The older train 171 may not have come from the same buyer. The seller of this
item received donation to sell and spend for the charity.
Unfortunately, most AFOL consider bricklink as the ultimate source and all that
is true about inventories. IT is really not. One commnet:
"Looking at bricklink it seems they were only used in 1978. They don't seem
too uncommon though, there are a few for sale on bricklink."
Having worked with inventory of vintage trains from 70-80, I am 100% sure non
of them were inventories based on a sealed set rather they were inventoried by
checking the instructions. All mistakes I see come from instructions. Whenever
something is missing is because it is not present in its instructions or on the
box
I don't know about stickerred minifigs and I don't know if the space
sets were inventoried the same way as train sets.
Hopefully some collector see this post and write an anwser.

Hi
Set 889 came with the stickered torso/minifig. Got this as my 2nd set when I
was 5-6y old.
Later they changed the Space minfigs and all came with printed torso.

I've approved these requests as a test run to see how well it goes. I've
also moved things around a little and added an inventory note. The sticker sheet
is pending catalog approval:
Feedback is always welcome from anyone interested in providing it.
The other way we could go is to include the printed figure as regular since it
was unquestionably much more common and the sticker sheet/plain torso figure
as alternate.
I can configure the inventory however members would prefer it.

The older version, even if rare compared to the later one, should definitely
be the regular item (minifig in this case) just as you've made it.
to the site admins: Any note at the bottom of an inventory should be much more
prominent - these notes are being overlookedway too often (many cases in Forum
threads in the past).
I would like a red banner at the top of an inventory:
"IMPORTANT: Please see the inventory note at the bottom of this page"

I agree that they're being overlooked far too frequently. I would like to
see them moved to the top of the page. I asked and was told this would be considered
after some other improvements had been made.
In general, the first variation should be regular as we don't know which
variation was used more. In this case, we know the answer. I think when one variation
is used less than 5% of all releases,, it should not be listed as regular. However,
one can add a note and explain this.
In general, we should add more notes and explain the difference between variations
and like, "the part XXXa appeared in all releases in 1979 but then it was replaced
by XXXb since early 1980".
