Dear BrickLink members,

From hurricanes and cyberattacks to United Airlines, this past year has been
eventful to say the least! In these terrifying times, it’s clear that zombies
are the number one threat to society. Prepare your minifig militia for the imminent
zombie apocalypse with BrickArms–coming soon to BrickLink!

The BrickArms brand is a collection of custom building toy-compatible weapons,
weapon packs, and custom minfigs. It features original, high-quality items that
fit perfectly within the LEGO world. We hope that the addition of BrickArms will
inspire the historian (or zombie fighter) in each of you.

As a long-time LEGO-only marketplace, this is a huge change for us. BrickLink
has survived by selling LEGO products alone for nearly 17 years. You may be thinking
to yourself, “Why rock the boat?” Simply put, we want our sellers to thrive,
not just survive. By offering a wider selection of high-quality brick products,
BrickLink will develop into a one-stop destination for brick enthusiasts of all
kinds. We hope you’ll join us in our battle for positive change and welcome this
brand with open arms.

The BrickArms catalog preview is available at https://preview.bricklink.com.
Please make sure to close all open BrickLink browser tabs before entering the
sandbox environment. You will also need to clear your cache when switching between
BrickLink and the preview site.

================================

Will this change the current listing policy?

We will be updating the listing policy to provide clarification but it will remain
relatively unchanged.

How will BrickArms fit in the current catalog structure/taxonomy?

-Brands-

BrickArms items are now positioned in parallel with LEGO as a 'brand’–a whole
new concept for BrickLink. On the Catalog Browse page, users can toggle
between All Brands, LEGO, and BrickArms items.

We’ve added all of the BrickArms items to our catalog and attached the BrickArms
logo above the item number to differentiate them from LEGO products.

-Catalog Tree-

Several new categories will be added to the existing catalog tree. There will
also be options to view the entire tree, just LEGO categories, or just BrickArms
categories.

-Color Guide-

Similar to Modulex colors, which are prefixed with Mx, BrickArms colors will
be prefixed with BA and will be at the bottom of the color guide. To prevent
data inaccuracies, sellers will not be allowed to apply LEGO colors to BrickArms
items (and vice versa) when adding items to their inventory.

Who will maintain the BrickArms catalog?

We assigned a BrickLink staff member to maintain the BrickArms catalog, process
any incoming BrickArms change requests, and add newly released BrickArms items
to the catalog. Our community volunteer admins will not be subject to any
additional workload with these changes.

How do I find BrickArms items on BrickLink?

You can now search by “brand” on the Catalog main page and on the Advanced
Catalog Search
page. You will also be able to filter by “brand” in the left
panel of storefront pages and in search results.

How do I add BrickArms items to my BrickLink store inventory?

Sellers can add individual BrickArms items to their inventory by using
the Sell Item page or add multiple BrickArms items at once by using
the Mass Inventory Upload page. At this time, users will not be able to
part out BrickArms sets to their inventory.

How can I report missing or incorrect data for BrickArms items in the
catalog?

Users will be able to fill out a Catalog Change Request if they spot incorrect
information on a BrickArms catalog item page. All incoming BrickArms catalog
change requests will be processed by a BrickLink staff member.

I’m only interested in selling LEGO items. Can I hide BrickArms colors
from the Add Inventory Item page?

Of course! BrickArms colors are included in the color list on the Add Inventory
Item
page by default, but these colors can be hidden by visiting your Default
Sell Item
options.

================================

We invite all of our sellers to get on board with BrickArms. These items will
be made available on the public site in one week barring any technical issues.
By the time some initial inventories are filled in around early January, we'll
begin a site-wide launch promotion and marketing campaign to boost sales and
attract BrickArms fans to the site. We hope this addition will not only increase
incoming orders but will also provide creative building inspiration for all members
to explore.

What do you plan to create with BrickArms? Share your feedback by replying

Jaclyn

Amen... I would be interested in verifying OUR funds did not go to this. This
is not what sellers are paying for on this site. In fact, if this took time away
from Halloween's relaunch/enhancements for "regular" Bricklink - which had
quite a few issues and still open tickets - I would be deeply unhappy and looking
harder at Brickowl.

We love this site BECAUSE it is (or shoudl I say was?) only LEGO. The majority
here are here because we have pure LEGO blood. And that is how we live, not
survive! You can ask us to accept these changes, but I certainly don't and
won't. I will NEVER buy a BrickArms item here or sell one. Period. They
are customs and NOT LEGO. They do NOT belong here. And so far it seems the
be the general consensus.

Rant over....(for now).

I also can only imagine the negative reciprocation this site will get from The
LEGO Company themselves with this change. They still refer folks here for older
LEGO kits and parts they don't have (was referred here by them just last
week actually). However if we are no longer "The Unofficial LEGO Marketplace"
I am sure they won't treat usthe same. I mean why refer here any more than
eBay or BrickOwl at that point?

The referrals here from LEGO have at minimum played a fair role in how this site
grew the way it did over the past decade. The negativity this new change is
already creating across the board will not be worth the perceived limited gain.
For one BrickOwl (from my long term use in conjunction with BrickLink) has been
showing signs of decline IMO. This though is great news for them, NOT for BrickLink,
as the purists will flock where the purity remains.

Seriously, BrickArms is one thing as a custom as it has always been allowed that
way. Changing it to a brand is borderline acceptable at best. If it goes on
to other brands I can guarantee BrickLink will lose a large portion of its seller
base to BrickOwl or possibly even another new site that can offer more of the
original BrickLink model. This change is not for the better as it is totally
out of touch with the majority of the BrickLink user base. Nameley the sellers
who make this site run. If we leave, BrickLink dies.

And if you don't believe me consider that I was one of the main voices who
challenged the redirection of BrickLink back in 2013-2014. I predicted the rise
of a new LEGO only site, and to my credit BrickOwl emerged within a few months.
And unlike its predecessors it did not die out shortly as other predicted as
these 3+ years since have shown. Adding fuel to the BrickLink discontent is
one of the dumbest actions to take considering how it went last time.

Just saying....

are customs and NOT LEGO. They do NOT belong here. And so far it seems the
be the general consensus.

Rant over....(for now).

================================

Sell Item
options.

================================

We hope this addition will not only increase
incoming orders but will also provide creative building inspiration for all members
to explore.

They do more. They advertise it with a big banner on the home page as if that's
the most important thing right now. And yet it's totally in contradiction
with the LEGO values. It's shocking.

I would have called myself a cynic a week ago for saying this, but I think BL
may be TRYING to get rid of a lot of the small-to-medium range sellers. In their
eyes we are simply too much of a hassle: you don't have to look any farther
than a single day's forum posts to see they are trying to discourage new
sellers. They'd rather deal with a few large cash cows than a bunch of small
fry. We already knew they had very little understanding or respect for
this LEGO community, but with this latest move they are now showing open contempt
for it!

They are clearly looking for other sources of revenue (probably due to the numerous
boondoggles of the past few years): you have the acquisition of Brickly last
week and now they're selling out for BrickArms. I guess I can't argue
with the cold logic of wanting to deal with just a few big money-makers: I'd
rather have one $100 order than ten $10 orders--I just wouldn't sell
the soul of my operation to accomplish that.

It would be interesting to see how much the traffic to BrickOwl increased as
a result of this announcement. I know they got some from me.

Just saying....

What!?

Even though LEGO star wars is for me crossing frontiers in terms of rationality
or pacifism, this is even worse! When I have seen brick arms within the LEGO
brickumentary, I was jolting my head - but at this time that topic was "far away".

As an user of bricklink I disagree to the decission to put those items into this
catalogue!

Please cancel that!!!

What a waste of time!

It would be better to set the preview site to be able to test instant checkout.

Add dimensions for instructions.

No, I don’t think BL has a clue. They have forgotten that this site was created
by Dan Jezek for Lego users by Lego users.

I was approached by a BL rep that had me fill out a survey. I thought it would
be a great opportunity to give BL some feedback. However, the survey was asking
about the need for an on-line collaborative-build web site. Why does BL think
they need to research this? Do they think they need to create another web site,
how about fixing this one? I don’t understand why they are changing so many
things and leaving the very long list of broken items unfixed. Would it be a
colossal effort to have a separate minimum buy for international orders? And
why, with 4TB drives going for less than $100, are we limited to 6 months of
data?

Unfortunately for us, we are faced with this dictatorship (you can vote and complain
all you want, it does not seem to matter to BL admin), because they know we really
have nowhere to go. BO just isn’t at the same level (yet).

BrickLink is no longer BrickLink, it is simply Link.

It is not LEGOlink, the brick of bricklink is generic enough to cover all brands
(whether we like it or not). Fortunately, LEGO does not have the power to stop
people using the word brick.

I suspect I will be very much in the minority offering praise, but so be it.

Of all the third-party accessories currently available, I feel that BrickArms
are the only ones on par with and in many cases better than LEGO in terms of
production quality and colour, and fill a niche that LEGO will never go near.

I look forward to the increased exposure of the brand and the ease of buying
and selling that will come from their addition to the BrickLink catalogue.

You just need to move the quotation marks.

From
"Unofficial" Lego Website
to
"Unofficial Lego" Website

It used to be Unofficial LEGO(R) Marketplace, not Website. Although that
tagline disappeared from the frontpage a while ago anyway.

I don't think it's the product that people are having a go at, rather
the principle. Of course, if BL is going to open to all compatible brick brands,
where else would they start but a premium product?

There are a lot of stores that are already selling these here on Bricklink as
custom items. So it is already being done and it has been allowed for quite
some time. So this change really just streamlines what has been going on already.

This doesn't mean that Bricklink will open up to Leupin and Mega Bloks as
Brick Arms was designed to pretty much go with Lego. Or am I mistaken?

I hate to say it, but I think you probably are. Let's be honest: Mega Bloks
and Lepin were also design to go with LEGO--that's the whole point of
clone brands. BL has demonstrated today that they are for sale, and if Mega
Bloks or Lepin or anyone else show up with enough cash I have no doubt that they
too could get their names listed in this new "Brands" category.

Just because it "fills a niche," does that mean it's a good thing? What's
next, sex toys? That would fill a niche too wouldn't it?

Would it be possible to just do a separate site for BrickArms or maybe catalog
them under custom stuff.

In Administrative, Admin_Jaclyn writes:

================================

Sell Item
options.

================================

Share your feedback by replying
below.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn

BrickArms has always been allowed in the custom items section on BrickLink, and
there are plenty of other sites out there selling them as well. What we want
to see with this implementation is how BrickArms sells when it has a parallel
relationship with Lego in the the BrickLink catalog.

Is the next thing to test how lepin sells when it has a parallel relationship
with Lego? This is honestly terrible an I have just gone and made a BO store
because of this rediculousness.

That's going off the deep end a bit - not referring to making a Brick Owl
store, but suggesting that Lepin may be next. I don't see Lepin being sold
at Brick conventions and I don't see people building with it.

Maybe you just missed Jaclyn's recent post where she said they were open
to allowing MB and Lepin to be listed here?

It's clear that the people who run this site (this is not directed at you,
Russell) have no understanding AT ALL of the LEGO community, let alone any passion
for it. No AFOL would ever suggest that MB or Lepin be given a status equal
to LEGO. As an AFOL, you can't explain that to someone--you have to
have grown up with LEGO or be part of a LEGO community to appreciate what it
means. Sadly, the management has been engaged with this community for years
now, but they still haven't a clue to what LEGO is all about and they have
absolutely no interest in learning.

The comments about jumping over to BrickOwl because of this are quite funny.
BO was originally set up with LEGO as the uppermost directory, such as ...

Catalog LEGO parts ....

which is a good indication that BO was always open to going the same way having
other brands.

In fact, there is this post on brickset forums from the BO founder ...

The main reason is to help people find the items from search engines but we
do intend to allow some branded custom items later on. Obviously clearly marked.

http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/comment/198080#Comment_198080

So BO had the same ethos over four years ago.

at Brick conventions and I don't see people building with it.

Except Lawrence has since decided to keep BO Lego only, over two years ago in
fact.

The problem is, it is not entirely true. While you cannot add custom parts to
the BO catalogue, people still sell or try to sell custom parts there as part
of official lego minifigures, for example.

As an example, Lando ...

just like here at BL, people sell this minifigure as new without a cape but it
includes a replica or custom cape for free. So that figure impacts on the sales
of all genuine ones. It is not just Lando either. Loads of minifigs are sold
with no cape but with a free fake one. And of course, once that figure is in
the hands of someone and they come to sell it, do they say it is a genuine cape
or not...

The 1 0 was to compliment Lawrence for taking the corr3ect decision and sticking
with Lego only (despite those that contravene that).

OK. Yes, he has officially stuck with it and it is people coming up with ways
around it that is the real problem there. Although the database has had the possibility
of easily adding other brands from it's inception. I imagine there isn't
really the money in it to make it worthwhile though.

I've sold my excess brickforge parts here and while they sell, they are very
low volume and slow sellers. I'm not sure brickarms will be high volume sellers
anyway and just clog up searches or introduce the annoyance of having to keep
switching to lego only - which is why I'd prefer it if by default searches
were LEGO only and you have to opt to include other brands if you want to (much
like custom parts now). Given the minimal supply chain for BA stuff through either
the company or resellers, a few sellers will have a major control of the market.
Resellers are hardly going to undercut their own website prices so I wonder where
they expect these sales to come from.

I don't object to people wanting to buy these parts (especially if it doesn't
impact on other users of the site), and if they are placing a LEGO order with
a seller, then it makes sense that they can add them to their order. Having them
in the catalogue officially makes this simpler (rather than the current custom
route), if it can be done without affecting other users (hence "LEGO only" as
default). That said, I'd prefer this site to be primarily a lego marketplace
and so I don't think sellers should be allowed to list only custom items.
That is, allow stores that primarily sell lego but also have some custom parts
but don't allow stores that sell mainly custom parts but add in a few genuine
lego parts to claim they are lego sellers.

I also hope that if they don't come to an agreement with other companies
(such as brickforge and brickwarriors) then those parts will not be banned. I'm
sure when this idea was first mentioned quite a while ago, the plan was to remove
all custom items from the site if they do not fit into the official catalogue.
To allow custom parts from BA (as presumably they are paying a fee) in the catalogue
but not to allow other custom parts as seller added customs as now seems to go
against the ethos of widening the range of items that can be sold and more towards
they are doing it for the money.

I'm pretty sure that would be removed if reported.

I didn't. How is this even possible? BL takes 3% of all sales. This must
add up to $1m+ every year easily.

I have read every single message in this thread and the majority of members express
dissatisfaction with the decision to add BrickArms to the catalog. In spite
of that, I have little doubt that BrickLink will do it anyway.

In juxtaposition, I see 1,200+ site suggestions dating back to 2010 where members
are telling BrickLink what they actually do want. Those suggestions remain
unheeded (although, to be fair, a while back someone from BrickLink did make
a start on them and then, apparently, gave up).

I believe there is sufficient evidence to support your statement.

This is hands-down the MOST well-written response!!
Bricklink, pay heed - not only does this strategy fly in the face of the founder's
ethos, but it also affects your precious bottom line.

Someone seems to be forgetting that the seller's fees pay for this site and
staff's salaries. Without the sellers, there is NO Bricklink. No paycheck,
people. With respect, please get this through your heads.

Instead of a thread that is years old, maybe you should look at what has actually
happened in reality in the years since on BO and also at their latest statement
on the matter.

It won't sell significantly different that now.
And, you will see a drop in the number of lego sellers.

This is a terrible idea, and the implementation is terrible.

And why do you want to see that? Most of the defenses of this move use your
argument that it was already sold. So why promote it to equal status as LEGO?

Seriously? Did you fall and hit your head or something? I feel as if a truck
just ran me over! BrickLink has always been a LEGO site for me, then this comes
along out of nowhere and I am flabbergasted by what you wrote below!

Cheers ...

================================

Sell Item
options.

================================

Share your feedback by replying
below.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn

Sell Item
options.

================================

Share your feedback by replying
below.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn

“Why rock the boat?” Simply put, we want our sellers to thrive,
  not just survive.

Well, I´m new to te site, and «just» a buyer. Just recently my life was ballanced,
I now have place for sets and Moc´s, and more Money for Lego than before...
But this...this makes no sense at all... It´s a LEGO site, and that´s why I registered
and made almost 30 purchases in a couple of months. Because I trust the sellers
and their parts.
I´m no seller, but using the sellers as excuse, saying «we want them to survive»...it´s
like passing the ball It´s like «yeah, we will be Ffing this all up to make more
Money, but we are thinking about You sellers». How is this thinking about the
sellers, if most of them seem surprised? If 99.9 % of them don´t even have these
Brick Arms items to sell, that apparently go under no brand at all...

I am really sorry to say this, and I don´t want to be missunderstood, but what
would Daniel Jezek do? Would he agree with this? Aren´t «we» changing his heritage?

BOOO!

So might as well allow custom stickers and knockoff brands as well.

Brickarms has its followers and fans that have many venues to buy and sell why
bring it here to bricklink?

Totally Agree, its a shame though! Bricklink in my eyes was always something
I enjoyed. Its a shame that no one has published anything supporting this at
all, just dropped the bomb shell on us!

As a buyer, I think this is a terrible idea. I shop here on BrickLink because
I know that everything I get is authentic LEGO (or at least it was...). Expanding
to non-LEGO brands removes a major reason I shop here. I have enough issues already
with the custom printed or chromed items, but as long as they are sold as custom
items and don't impact the catalog or other sales, I can tolerate it. If
I wanted to be confused on if I'll get actual LEGO or some clone brand knock-off,
I would just shop on Ebay...

Please re-think this decision. The damage it does to the BrickLink brand is much
more than you seem to realize.

The initial reaction is very negative, which is a bit strange, since we have
been allowed to sell BrickArms on BL forever. (Well, as long as I've been
around, anyway.) Yet everyone seems to be reacting as though the ability to find
BrickArms is new. Weird.

What is actually changing is that BA parts will now be more easily findable,
as they will have their own section of the catalog. Surely this is an improvement.

In the past, I have mostly been against the idea of allowing "custom" parts on
BrickLink. It never made sense to me that a line was drawn between parts by companies
like MegaBlok, and parts by BrickArms. To me, they are the same -- construction
toy parts, by manufacturers other than Lego. If some should be allowed, then
why not all?

What is changing is that BrickArms are no longer considered customs. They are
a brand on equal footing with LEGO, the brand this site was built with. If BrickArms
and LEGO are simply brands on this site it states that it is NOT a LEGO marketplace
anymore. It is only a construction toy market. I would say over 90% of users
are here because they want LEGO, not other brands. (Probably to be more accurate
I should say 99.9%.) With that being the collective bonding of us all, LEGO,
these changes from anything non-LEGO being a custom to now accepted as another
brand, is opening the doors of our "online country" to a mass immigration of
outsiders. Simply put who wants to open their LEGO club to all the off-brand
builders in the neighborhood? The thought is totally sickening and makes one
loose all interest in remaining part of the club at that point.

That is why there is a negative response, because this site is more than a "construction
toy marketplace". It is a online country of sorts, an exclusive club, a commonwealth
of everything LEGO. And to us we just had "Big Brother" pull a back-stabbing
policy change that turns BrickLink Nation into a melting pot of plastics of all
kinds.

It's not the issue of customs being here (though I'd still disagree on
that issue as well) but one of equating any other brand as equal with LEGO, which
to us is blasphemy.

A policy that I have always felt uncomfortable about has just changed its nature.
I do not see any difference between BrickArms and any other LEGO compatible product.
That has always been the problem with allowing such products to be sold as custom
items.

I wonder if you take a Mega Block and spay paint it a color that is not available
from Lego is that then a custom part?

IT'S A COOKBOOK!

In Administrative, Admin_Jaclyn writes:

================================

Sell Item
options.

================================

Share your feedback by replying
below.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn

This is a truly awful idea, and I really hope that you have a serious re-think
about it!

Does this mean that you'll be welcoming other clones brands etc? Any thoughts
about Lepin? It would be good to know where you intend to draw the line?

================================

Sell Item
options.

================================

Jaclyn

I think a lot of people here are overreacting. I'm not happy about this myself,
but I think if there's an option to completely hide it and not see anything
related to BrickArms then I and most people could live with it

It’s plastered all over the homepage of the site as a big thing that’s important
and celebrated.
I don’t think ignoring it is an option.

This is by far the most stupid idea the new ownership has produced of unwanted
(by us users and payers of the service) changes. Please stick to keep this as
a pure LEGO site!

If you keep making these changes my guess will be that competitative web sites
for selling and buying original LEGO will be very succesfull.

I know it is best for business

but there are other platform you can host non lego stuff
many of us visit bricklink because we are 100 perecent confident that the stuff
we buy are lego brand only.

if you start introducing non lego, how are we going to differentiate one froma
another? especially some of the parts are so small that it is hard to identify

we dont pay high price for nothing
otherwise, we would have buy lepin, or sogo or any other china brand
the amount we paid on bricklink for such small little parts..we can get a bucket
full of those china brand easily..

so thank you but no thank you

First, wouldn't it be easier to create a separate catalog for Brick Arms

Second, since we're talking about a Brick Arms/Link collaboration, will there
be one for Brick Forge too? https://www.brickforge.com/ALL/

Well, this is interesting! Normally that first link would be verboten here in

Brick arms, aren't a "LEGO CLONE" they are accessories for you Lego's,
they don't replace Lego they "fill in the gaps". I support this decision,
and I also don't understand the over reaction from most of the members. All
I can say is go check out the Brick arms community on flikr and Brickarms.com.
It's a great community that supports Lego. Will, the owner is also a pretty
cool guy I use to be a part of the Forum and flikr community. It was a big part
of my childhood. Stay Strong Bricklink!
Best Wishes,

So as mentioned hundreds of times over the years, what happens when the alternative
brand piece is already available and Lego make a close official Lego version
in the future... is it then a cloned part?

Absolutely insane idea that will inevitably open the floodgates later on..

The fact that there will be a BRANDS category insinuates that other BRANDS will
follow.

No insinuation. Read the announcement again, they're planning on adding other
brands. It's subtle, likely deliberately so, but it's there.

LOL! Nice bit of humor there.

One advantage to having BrickArms in its own section of the catalog is that the
custom items listings will be more free for other things - not couches or Civics,
but legitimate Lego and Lego-related items that could use more exposure.

The custom section is currently cluttered with a lot of fake chromed parts, making
it nearly impossible to find anything without using "-chrome" and similar search
filters.

I would propose to have those all banned from the site, they undermine my trust
in the genuine LEGO items and I would definitely not propose to give them a happy
catalog section for themselves.

What a depressive announcement... My store will NEVER sell other items than genuine
LEGO.

In Administrative, Admin_Jaclyn writes:

================================

Sell Item
options.

================================

Share your feedback by replying
below.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn

If all you set sellers move to alternate sales venues, I'll follow you there.
I don't need to have non-Lego stuff (even high-quality items such as Brickarms)
available on a Lego site. It's a slippery slope; when Lepin or Mega or what-have-you
comes along with a wad of cash to throw at the site to open the doors to sales
of those products, what's to stop them?

The ability of the current sellers to distinguish the wide variety and colors
of genuine Lego parts is already questionable in many cases (sorry for ripping
on you, sellers, but you know it's true for most of the site...); how in
the world are we going to be able to sort out non-Lego from Lego when it's
offered? As Lego weapons get more detailed and approach Brickarms level of detail,
how many mis-identifications are going to occur? And who's going to pay
the price? Not Bricklink management, that's for sure; it will be the buyers
and sellers who have to suffer through this. Thanks a lot, BL; maybe you should
reconsider?

I'm trying to look at this rationally, thinking that this is an over-reaction
and that if you don't care about BrickArms, then you don't have to see
them. I'm also feeling a little sympathetic for Will, the owner of BrickArms.
I'm sure he is feeling worse than the rest of us right now seeing this thread.
But this is wrong. This is a slippery slope. BrickArms is the beginning. I saw
someone say that this is the beginning of the end and I agree about that. BrickLink
purchased B'rickly. And B'rickly was developing their own clone brand.
So this is just BrickLink easing us into introducing a third brand, their own.

Hi Ctbyrne,

We wouldn't abduct you for being misinformed!

We did recently acquire a company called Brickly to help support the builder
community. However, Brickly did not develop their own clone brand, nor did they
have any plans to do so.

Thanks!

What a delicate flower you must be, if you feel that Jaclyn's reply to Chris,
is "dumping on people?" Maybe try and locate a safe-space to compose yourself.

"Acting cute?" I read witty, humorous with far more patience than I'd exibit
in her shoes.

It still amazes me, the crap the admins take here in the forum, when simply trying
to inform the forum readers. That they haven't given up on posting site updates
in the forum, is the question in my mind.

Store Closed Store: It Starts With a Brick

It still amazes me, the crap the admins take here in the forum, when simply trying
to inform the forum readers. That they haven't given up on posting site updates
in the forum, is the question in my mind

I'm trying to picture a real world brick and mortar store situation like
this. Like if an ice cream shop said "In addition to our popular toppings, we
are now offering some new choices from a different supplier to enhance your frozen
treat."

Would people think that the ice cream store has lost all respect for its customers?
Would some customers storm out in a fit? Would the customers who stayed wonder
what was up with the fits?

But as it is, an online toy market set up a system for a popular accessory brand
to be sold along side its primary brand, and the reaction is "somewhat" turbulent.

It's not like they did something truly unforgivable...say like...oh, I dunno...CHANGING
GREY!!!
