10/31/17 Site Update
=====================
Happy Halloween!

Bug fixes in today's deployment:

Instant Checkout Fixes:

-Shipping method window is not large enough on the Edit Order page.
-Instant Checkout is not working when one of the package restriction dimensions
is below 19mm (0.75 inches).
-The weight band minimum weight value is missing in the Courier API rate chart.

General Bug Fixes:

-Super lots not linking correctly through Price Guide.
-Sorting options not applied to wanted list items.

Site Enhancements:

-Added an inventory filter to show instant checkout unavailable items.
-Updated the error handling method when a buyer's email has not been confirmed
during checkout.
-Sellers now have the ability to file quotes.
-Removed the ability for users to see a list of members who have stoplisted them.
**FYI- removing this was my request as it caused way too many unnecessary arguments
and stress for community members.

Thanks Jaclyn,

I've been waiting for this!!! Awesome!

How in the world could you see people who listed you as least favorite or blocking
you. I never had this ability. I was always curious who I pissed off...

It was never possible to see who least favourited your store, only how many times.

Now even that functionality has been removed. Screenshot attached (previously
I had 0 members list me as a favorite store and 3 members list me as a least
favorite store).

It is also no longer possible to see how many members are ignoring you. Previously
there were 3 members ignoring me. I understand not listing which members
are stoplisting/ignoring/least favoriting, but I consider it helpful to know
how many members are performing these actions.

It’s still there for me, near the bottom. (Hasn’t changed in a while, I must
be losing it )

Perhaps it's because you are now an administrator, so nobody can ignore you...

Not that they should.

A couple of small niggles.

1.I dont know if its intentional, but I am now unable to 'customise my display'

in the following:

My Orders Settings: Orders Received Columns

regardless of the settings I choose, they will not change.

This is since I have started using Instant checkout. Both additional
charge boxes and the insurance box are shown and cannot be removed.

2. As someone else mentioned with paypal Instant payments the order note is now
the username, is it not possible to keep the order number?

thanks again
Paul

Not able to change columns is designed for instant checkout.

I've reported that the settings can't be changed when instant checkout
is NOT enabled.

I don't want 4 extra empty columns/boxes on my order pages!

Altering columns should be my choice

If I'm not able to alter the columns I might have to disable instant checkout

I have to scroll across now to see my tracking columns

I won’t either

But can you still see the list from your “My Activity” page?
https://www.bricklink.com/pref_stop.asp?v=W
I still get to see the list. So that “fix” didn’t fix anything.

And can you go to their shop?
I couldn’t yesterday but it appears I can now go to their shop (which is totally
useless).

Yes, I can go to the shop and add items to my cart

I remember noticing it a couple years ago, after I had participated in some threads
about consumer rights (I think you were there too ), but they could have stoplisted
me earlier as they didn’t participate in the threads (they might have read them
though).

Anyway, no skin off my nose, plenty of fish in the sea.
And they’re not even in my favorite sea to begin with

As opposed to how irked the buyer is gonna be after they spend a few hours filling
their cart with items to buy...only to find out as they go to the checkout that
they have been Stoplisted ???

Personally, I like to know up-front who SL me, rather than having to find out
via trial and error

I guess time will tell whether anonymous SL roulette is more or less popular
than the old system.

Because it doesn’t for me: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1060809

There’s still a list, but I can’t get into the store (with a totally abstruse

As opposed to how irked the buyer is gonna be after they spend a few hours filling
their cart with items to buy...only to find out as they go to the checkout that
they have been Stoplisted ???

Personally, I like to know up-front who SL me, rather than having to find out
via trial and error

I guess time will tell whether anonymous SL roulette is more or less popular
than the old system.

Does the “fix” work for you?
Because it doesn’t for me: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1060809

There’s still a list, but I can’t get into the store (with a totally abstruse
error message).

The 'fix' has broken the Seller's stop list for sellers. It still
works for buyers.
Total nonsense decision to remove this option anway.

IKR, it really should hide the cart option or something when stop-listed. This
way is sure to irk a lot more people than being aware upfront you are blocked.
Removing the list would be fine, so long as you can tell upon landing on the
store page you are not allowed to buy there.

I disagree with this decision until which time the website resolves the key issue
that should never occur.

The refusal of service should prevent a logged in member from even entering the
store, let alone filling up a cart to discover the below message.

BTW- this was a previous feature that was lost in the "upgrade." Among many
others.

-Removed the ability for users to see a list of members who have stoplisted them.
**FYI- removing this was my request as it caused way too many unnecessary arguments
and stress for community members.

I agree on both points, and if being stop-listed was causing stress to some members
that is the members' problem, not Admin's. If members are really complaining
to Admin about what amounts to, "waaa, he won't let me buy from his store,
BrickLink need to do something about it," then maybe someone should double-check
that those members are old enough to be on the site.

I don't agree with this measure. Why would I allow someone who stop lists
me to order in my store? Please either make stop listing someone automatically
reciprocal, or otherwise reverse this change and simply ignore/delete all messages
to admin that are about stop lists.

yeah thats what I see too. I can still go to the person's shop and build
up a cart and then it tells me I am stoplisted and cannot buy. I agree that it
needs to stop you earlier otherwise it would be very annoying

Thanks. So what they have done is crazy. They have stopped sellers seeing other
sellers that have stop listed them, but if you are a buyer only you can still
see who stoplisted you. I imagine this is probably down to poor coding rather
than by design.

Is tit-for-tat really so bad here though? If A won't let B buy from him (and
B doesn't know), why should B still have to sell to A? If there is a problem
between two users, it is probably best that no transactions either way take place
between them. It is not like there are so few sellers or buyers that this will
be a problem.

I was just kidding with the tit-for-tat. This has all the hallmarks of a quick-and-dirty
solution not working as advertised.

That is interesting. If I use that link or select that option In my store I get
directed to the members I have stop listed. I cannot get a list of those who
stop listed me. Maybe they coded it differently for sellers and buyers

No, it looks like a "script-kiddie" fix; they changed the code that linked to
the user's list of Sellers who stoplisted them to the user's list of
Buyers they Stoplisted, which is not the correct way to solve the problem.

They should have used the same simple code as they use for other similar features
such as the Ignore feature:

Members on my Ignore list (active clickable link)

Members who are ignoring me (no clickable link)

I think removing the ability to see who has stoplisted you as a buyer is a good
thing. I recall one user that was stop listed by many sellers who set up a fresh
account and placed fake orders from the people that stop listed him just to get
back at them (presumably harvesting their contact details too).

However, I also believe that buyers who have been stoplisted from a store should
be stopped from entering that store, so they do not waste time filling a cart
only to find out that they have been stoplisted.

Duplicate accounts are not being taken as seriously as they used to be. We reported
a merge request about a week ago and it has not been actioned yet.

PS. I know buyers can activate the option in "my settings" in a search to not
show items from sellers that have stop-listed them. However, they should still
be warned about not being able to checkout when entering a store if they are
stoplisted or the option should be switched on by default.

-Added an inventory filter to show instant checkout unavailable items.
-Updated the error handling method when a buyer's email has not been confirmed
during checkout.

-Sellers now have the ability to file quotes.

Why can I only file Quotes I requested and not Quotes Received?
In the columns settings there's no File checkbox.

-Removed the ability for users to see a list of members who have stoplisted them.
**FYI- removing this was my request as it caused way too many unnecessary arguments
and stress for community members.
